Russian classics are the spiritual and moral core of the younger generation. The moral core of man

The course of world events has come to a point where the existing world order has practically outlived its usefulness, it is shaking and feverish. The crisis speaks of this with all its clarity. It is becoming increasingly clear that the old public building can no longer be restored, that there is only one way left - to move forward, creating new forms of life, new forms of social relations. This will be a relationship free from those remnants that today limit us at every step. They will be adequate to modern conditions, modern human consciousness.
Everything starts with a person and ends with a person. No improvements in the management structure, economy, technology... will help if we ourselves remain the same, with the worldview and those ideas that have led us to today's dead end. But by what criterion can one distinguish old, outdated social phenomena from those progressive and emerging ones that are so needed now? Most likely it is a moral core, a moral feeling.
The very concept of morality requires, in this regard, a more precise definition. It is often confused with morality, which is a set of purely external rules, while morality is a deeply internal (innate) property of a person. Morality is valid as long as a person is conditioned by society with its rigid set of regulations. Therefore, the presence or absence of a moral core becomes noticeable in emergency (contingency) situations. Today, thanks to the crisis, our whole life is beginning to resemble one ongoing emergency situation. The most ordinary and ordinary problems in life can lead to much more serious consequences than before. For example, if previously dismissal was fraught only with a less prestigious job or lower salary, today it can turn into a collapse of all life plans and even put the family on the brink of survival.
It is precisely such seemingly purely everyday things that reveal a person’s moral core, showing what and for what he is ready to sacrifice. Today, more and more people are faced with a choice - either close their eyes (compromise) with their own ideas about decency, honor, justice..., or lose their livelihood. No matter how prosaic it may seem, such simple life situations are a litmus test that shows what leads us through life.
Moral feeling is a passport to the future, that silver thread that will guide a person through all upcoming collisions. This is the core that will not allow you to break from seeming hopelessness or lose direction from sudden luck. The best human qualities come from this feeling.

Alexander Fedotovich, the period of the 90s, when the school lived in accordance with the thesis “we only give knowledge, the family educates”, is a thing of the past. Today, the educational aspect is becoming a priority in the work of any educational institution. This was announced at the highest state level. President Dmitry Medvedev proposed for implementation the “Concept of spiritual and moral education of schoolchildren.” In April next year, an experimental course aimed at the spiritual and moral education of schoolchildren will appear in Russian schools. As one of the largest educational publishers in the country, are you ready for this? Are there already any textbooks or their projects for this course?

We are ready to publish any textbook that will serve good, meet state standards, and the pen of its author will belong to a talented professional. The publishing house has accumulated some experience. An example of this is the book “Native Land” for elementary school, a course on world artistic culture, and an elective course “Geography. Leafing through the pages of a family album”, “Orthodox Dictionary”, a series of books for family reading about the traditions and customs of Russian peoples, their heroism and love for the Motherland. If we talk directly about textbooks for the course “Fundamentals of Religious Cultures and Secular Ethics,” then as soon as the standard is approved, we are ready to start working on them. We have ideas, a circle of authors has been identified... I would like to emphasize: it is wonderful that spiritual and moral culture is being taught in schools. We have been waiting for it, because it presupposes the formation of personality on the solid foundation of centuries-old domestic traditions, where spirituality almost takes first place. One of the problems is who will teach the new course? It is necessary to make appropriate adjustments to the system of advanced training for teachers, to the structure of higher pedagogical education, to the content of education in history departments, because most likely it is historians who will teach this course. In addition, we must not forget that Russia is a multinational and multi-religious country. I would even abandon the word “Russians”, returning to the definition that has long been accepted in Russia - “Russian people”. When developing a curriculum, the multi-ethnicity of the country must be taken into account, constantly remembering that we are obliged to instill in students respect for representatives of other nations and faiths, to cultivate the consciousness that we are a single family with a common historical destiny.

This course is designed to unite people, not divide them. Here lies one of the main ideas of spiritual and moral education - to teach goodness, mercy, love. Teachers will require special subtlety, delicacy and spiritual wisdom. And, of course, this subject should be of interest to children. Its task is to instill in the child a taste for culture and an interest in learning the history of the human spirit. You cannot be late in starting work, but you should also be prepared for long-term systematic work, and the results will come - people will become kinder, more sympathetic, and most importantly, more spiritual, with a rich inner world filled with bright thoughts and goals.

The future of the country largely depends on the teacher. His social role is truly great. All achievements begin from the threshold of the school. Every great thinker, scientist, commander, representative of the creative intelligentsia, highly professional worker had his own teacher and remained with him all his life. The teacher made his contribution to all the achievements that the country has, and his contribution is his weight.

I already said it once in an interview and I’ll say it again: who do you think won the Great Patriotic War? The Soviet teacher, his students, for whom the defense of the Fatherland has always been an honorable duty. This is clearly visible in any village, town, or city where there are obelisks with the names of his students who gave their lives for the Fatherland written in gold.

I am sure that today’s youth, if necessary, will defend their Motherland. But it is better to let this cup pass from them. Don’t we have heroes of Russia now - young guys who showed courage in hot spots? Our children need to know their names. Why not create a pantheon of the country's national heroes and honor them as shrines? We have also forgotten about the working man, but he is the salt of the earth - a simple worker who goes to work every day, sows grain or stands at the machine, lives for the sake of his children. He should be given credit in the media too.

Alexander Fedotovich, I think the objectives of the course “Fundamentals of Religious Cultures and Secular Ethics” are not only an excursion into world religions, into the cultural traditions of different peoples, but also an attempt to give a little person a moral foundation, that support that would help him in life.

The child must develop a moral core that would protect a person from breakdowns in any life circumstances. Forming a child’s inner spiritual world is one of the most difficult educational tasks. Both the family and the school should be involved in its decision. The right spiritual and moral choice is not an easy problem for every person. We need to teach children how to do it. After all, a young man or girl often finds himself in the situation of a knight at a crossroads.

They must learn to understand not only themselves, but also other people, and live with them in harmony of human relations. The great classic, expert on the human soul Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky, wrote: “The most difficult thing is to live among people and remain human.” This is, in fact, a kind of verdict on human society. You should strive for love and respect for your neighbor, for man. Seraphim of Sarov greeted everyone with the bright words “my joy.” And we should not become a burden to each other, but a joy.

And yet, I think, the basics of human morality and relationships between people are primarily taught by the family.

Undoubtedly. The family is primarily responsible for raising children. Morals are most often taught by example. And the main and favorite examples for children have always been and will remain father and mother, grandparents. A child learns a kind, pure, bright relationship between a man and a woman by looking at his parents. In this case, everything matters - how the father and mother talk, their gestures, facial expressions, intonations. A child should have a special habitat where he is selflessly loved. He must feel and sense the love of his family and friends for him, and always count on their support, help, and understanding. This instills confidence in one’s strength, helps to gain stability and integrity of the inner world with peace of mind. In a family, a child learns a lot, and it’s good if he absorbs the purity of relationships, thoughts, good deeds, loyalty and much more that forms nobility - a quality that, unfortunately, is rarely talked about today.

Agree, it is very difficult for both families and schools to fight the pernicious influence of some media, television shows, where there is a lot of negativity, violence and evil, and even outright vulgarity...

Yes, unfortunately, the world around the child is, to put it mildly, anti-pedagogical. A number of TV shows have already become the talk of the town. How to fight? Introduce censorship? Yes, but special censorship, which would go through the heart and soul of the authors of such programs, if, of course, they have a soul and heart. Let them ask themselves whether they want their children to be raised on these programs, and whether they remember what is said in the Bible: “Whoever brings temptation, it was better for him not to be born...” This does not mean that all television, all newspapers and magazines are immoral and dangerous to the spiritual health of our children. There are bright television programs filled with the goodness of human creativity. We will focus on them.

Instilling feelings of love for the Motherland and patriotism is part of spiritual and moral education...Where do you think the Motherland begins? How do you answer this question, Alexander Fedotovich?

The homeland begins with each of us, we are part of it. And what we are, our actions, our deeds, is our Motherland. Patriotism is a feeling of responsibility, first for oneself, then for one’s family, for comrades, for the city and, ultimately, for one’s country. Everyone has their own responsibility. And everyone, regardless of profession, position, place of work, deserves respect. After all, patriotism is also respect for fellow citizens, for common history, for the fate of the country. People should not be indifferent to each other.

Let's return to educational book publishing. I know that in addition to textbooks, you publish various educational series: “Travel Library”, libraries of domestic and foreign classics, “Crossroads of History”, which undoubtedly carry a powerful educational charge...

Yes, these books are worth many hours of educational conversations. For example, the “Travel Library” is essentially a chronicle of a person’s heroism and dedication in the name of science, in the name of the Fatherland. Our compatriots Khabarov, Ermak, Przhevalsky and others made a huge contribution to great geographical discoveries. They accomplished great feats for the sake of understanding planet Earth. Read Scott's letters to his wife, written when death was at his doorstep. There is so much love in them... For me, reading means talking with a wise person, comprehending eternity... And the spiritual culture that we are talking about today goes hand in hand with the culture of reading and speech. This should also be remembered when addressing children.

What is this article about? By and large, how to live calmly, happily and in harmony with yourself. And this is expensive. This is not available to many. And, in fact, money can't buy it.

Don't believe me? Look at the lives of the rich who got their wealth through dishonest means. They are not happy at all. Rather, agitated and restless, always in tension, sometimes lost. No matter how much they want to show others that this is not so. Although, if you want to live such a life, then do not read the article further.

So what is honor?

Honor is the totality of a person’s qualities through which he gains self-respect. It includes such qualities as nobility, justice, valor, courage, honesty and strict moral principles. This word comes from the Slavic word čьtti and literally means “veneration, honor, respect.” We can say that honor is honoring oneself.

Honor is the totality of a person’s qualities through which he gains self-respect.

Winnie the Pooh loved himself very much. And there was a reason for it! He:

1. I have never taken all their honey from bees. Only half.
2. He always shared with homeless cubs - he gave away a third of the honey he extracted. Very generous.
3. Not all the honey was alone, but he invited Owl or Heel to join him. He was hospitable to a fault.

And oh how he respected himself! He was very proud of himself! He had his own Winnie the Pooh HONOR.

In the past, honor was associated not so much with the internal qualities of a person, but with his ability to behave in society, to comply with established norms and rules of behavior. This was required to maintain reputation and respect from others.

Honor is closely related to the concept of honesty. After all First of all, a person should not deceive himself.

Honor sets limits on what people can allow themselves to do without feeling guilty or remorseful.

Our honor is to follow the best and
improve the worst if it can still become more perfect.
Plato

What is integrity

Decency and honesty are too expensive gifts.
And you shouldn’t expect them from cheap people.
Woody Allen

There is also such a concept as decency.

Decency is honesty, inability to engage in low, immoral, antisocial acts.

Integrity is when a person is honest and does not intentionally harm others.

If a person is truthful and simply makes sure not to harm other people, he can be considered decent. If he does something, but these actions do not intentionally cause unpleasant consequences for others, then such actions cannot characterize a person as dishonest.

In Ancient Greece, the word decency was defined as follows: “sincerity of character combined with the right way of thinking; honesty of character."

Decency is spiritual cleanliness.

Decency is when, despite one’s own interests, a person will act according to his conscience, “as he should.”

One of the richest men in the world, Warren Buffett, said: “When I hire people, I look for three qualities. The first is decency, the second is intelligence and the third is high energy. But if the first one is missing, the other two will kill you!”

Vinnie was a very decent bear. And he simply could not touch Piglet’s pot of honey until he allowed him to do so. And that’s why he played the console with Pyatochka until the night, because at the end there was a real PRIZE waiting for him! Ha, but Pyatochek doesn’t even suspect it!

By the way, there is such a thing as sincerity. Sincerity is the absence of contradictions between what a person says and what he really wants or feels. Sincerity is the ability to refuse deception and speak as it is. Sincerely means “truthfully” and “frankly”.

What is respect

Respect is the recognition that another person has merit and merit. Thanks to this feeling, communication between people becomes comfortable. We find something good in others, worthy, if not admiration, then recognition.

You can love just like that. But you can only be respected for something.

Relationships in any team are built on this feeling: at work, in the family, in the company.

Respect is the recognition that another person has merit and merit.

Piglet respected Owl very much. She always gave wise advice: where to find an oak tree with acorns, where the dirtiest puddles are, how to get the best dirt, with a crust. Yes, Owl knew a lot about this! Respect.

And Eeyore Piglet simply loved the donkey. There was nothing to respect: he was too stupid, he couldn’t even buy carrots in the store.

To express your respect to a person, it is enough to treat him without disdain, listen, do not hurt his feelings, do not mock him, speak politely to him, do not hurt his honor, etc.

Before you even enter into a dialogue with a person, you can already show or not show respect for him. For example, if there is a woman in front of you and you stand with your hands in your pockets, you are disrespecting her. It turns out that respect as a respectful attitude is partly related to etiquette.

Sometimes respect lies in tolerance and condescension. For example, if your interlocutor expresses a point of view different from yours. Treat him with respect, because these are his views on life, and they have a right to exist.

It is worth noting that respect does not necessarily have to be associated with sympathy. You can even respect your enemy - for some qualities or an action he has committed.

Nobody can be happy
unless he commands his own respect.

Jean Jacques Rousseau

Self-respect is the first step to being respected by others.
Jonathan Trigell.

What is human character?

The character of a person is understood as all the characteristics of a person, that is, all his various qualities and personality traits that leave an imprint on all his actions and manifestations. In other words, character is a set of properties that determine a person’s behavior in society. And these properties themselves are called character traits.

character is a set of properties that determine a person’s behavior in society.

The Rabbit's character was calm: he very calmly watched as Piglet had been trying to get Winnie out of his hole for half an hour. And how, with each attempt, the beautifully finished rabbit hole (made to the latest standards of the Forest) turned into ruins. But Vinnie still didn’t get through...

But Piglet’s character was eccentric: he ran around Vinnie and constantly said something and said something.

Character traits are individual qualities of a person that influence her behavior. For example: confidence and goodwill, or caring and understanding.

The word “character” comes from the ancient Greek word “χαρακτηρ”, which means: “sign, distinctive feature, sign.”

Whatever a person’s “yes” and “no” are, such is his character.
A quick “yes” or “no” is distinguished by a lively, firm, decisive character,
slow is cautious and timid.

I. Lavater

Character is like a tree, and reputation is its shadow.
We care about the shade, but what we really need to think about is the tree.

A. Lincoln

What is human dignity

It is common in society to see a well-dressed person and say that he looks decent. But does dignity manifest itself only externally? Shouldn't it touch a person's heart and influence his actions? Let's figure out what human dignity is.

The dignity of a person is his respect for himself, a sense of the importance of himself as an individual, the ability to get out of any situation without overstepping his principles.

The dignity of a person is his respect for himself.

The owl was always proud of herself and respected herself. And there was a reason for it. She always came first in mouse catching competitions. True, one time, completely by accident and by mistake, she grabbed Vinny, tearing out a large clump of fur from his back, well, that doesn’t happen to anyone.

But the Owl realized that she was mistaken. She immediately apologized. She smeared brilliant green all over her back and flew away. Satisfied as hell. And on the way she caught 5 more mice - she had to play poker with someone. And mice, as everyone knows, are excellent players.

Be that as it may, Owl understood: She’s great! And Winnie cured, and managed to throw a party for the mice, and played poker herself.

This is the ability to interact with the world without compromising one’s principles, without making concessions to base desires and bad deeds.

Self-esteem is an individual’s awareness of his own importance and value, and adherence to certain rules of behavior based on self-esteem.

It is inherent in everyone from birth. The dignity of a person allows him to realize the importance of not only himself, but also those around him. A person has to form it, educate and train it in himself.

People who have this quality treat others with respect. Dignity gives a person a sense of self-confidence and self-confidence. The higher we value ourselves, the more potential opportunities open to us.

Probably everyone in their life has found themselves in such situations when you experience a feeling of lack of self-esteem and worthlessness. It happens that people do not feel worthy and believe that there is nothing to respect them for. This usually happens when a person commits one or another act for which he subsequently feels remorse. In such cases they say that honor and dignity are lost.

As a rule, after some time a person makes amends, improves his reputation and again earns respect. He ceases to consider himself a loser and insignificance and removes this definition from himself. At the same time, honor and dignity return to the person.

Living means not only satisfying the material needs of the body,
but mainly to be aware of their human dignity.

Jules Verne

The strong are not the best, but the honest ones.
Honor and self-esteem are the strongest.

Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky

Human integrity

The meaning of the word “integrity”, according to the explanatory dictionary: one that is whole, monolithic, indestructible, strong, united.

We can talk about the integrity of a person, meaning the harmonious unity of her physical, mental, spiritual and moral life. If a person teaches a healthy lifestyle and high moral values during the day, and at night and until the morning “buzzes” in a nightclub, picking up girls of easy virtue, then it is difficult to talk about the integrity of such a person.

The integrity of a person is the harmonious unity of her physical, mental, spiritual and moral life.

Vinny looked at the tree and thought: if I don’t climb it and take some honey from the hive, then I’m not a real bear. A real bear should not miss a single hive!

But there are bees there, and they bite. And the Owl considers this tree his own and will be extremely dissatisfied.

So Vinnie sat in front of the tree for the third day and thought, thought, thought. He was just cracking! He was pulled in all directions.

Vinny is tired of it. He came to an agreement with himself: he is a bear! He must devastate all the hives on his way! And they always come to an agreement with Owl.

Now Vinny no longer hesitated. He acted. And today he will have honey!

A holistic personality can be compared to ready-made borscht - take it and eat it, unlike meat, cabbage, potatoes and beets. Personal integrity presupposes the correspondence of the content of a person’s inner life and his external activities.

Speaking about the internal integrity of a person, we mean a person’s ability in critical situations to maintain his life strategy, to remain committed to his life positions and value orientations.

Personal integrity is spoken of when a person has the courage to look at things realistically, draw their own conclusions and, if necessary, speak up about it, including resisting external pressure. This is a person who has a stable worldview and value system. This is a person who is not tormented by contradictions, who has peace and confidence inside.

It's not scary when the world is collapsing around you -
it's scary when it collapses inside you

Vlad Deckert

All guilt is a state of being lost in the past;
all anxiety is a state of being lost in the future.
Ken Wilber

Unintegrated personality

An incomplete person or a person who has lost his integrity is a person who has internal contradictions with himself.

If a person does not have goals, constantly contradicts both everyone and himself, does not know how to make decisions, or shifts them to others so as not to bear responsibility for them, then such a person can hardly be called holistic.

An incomplete personality is one who has internal contradictions with himself

Piglet sat on a chair and pulled out his hair. How did he let this happen?

Yesterday. I drank fermented honey. And after which he tore out the feathers from the Owl, then threw the poor donkey Eeyore onto a tree, having previously painted it with red paint. And Vinnie. And poor Vinnie Piglet simply set fire after dousing it with gasoline. Oh, well, he had a blast yesterday.

But now. He's a good, proper pig. As a child, he was just an angel. But what about what he did yesterday?! Owl. Vinnie. Eeyore...

How can he live now, after everything he has done? Oh wow...

For these people there is no guideline in life; their companions are self-doubt and low self-esteem. The consequences of all this are a constant change of personal beliefs and disappointment in everything. Not everyone, being in critical conditions, retains their qualities as an integral personality and remains unchanged in relation to their life positions.

How to feel like a worthy person

If for some reason you do not feel like a worthy person, this situation can be corrected.

First of all, you need to stop all attempts at humiliating treatment of yourself by others. You deserve to be treated well.

It is necessary to constantly improve yourself, adding knowledge and skills to your baggage. Learn to do your job better or make a better product (a product is the result of some work).

The more value you provide to others, the higher your self-respect and dignity will be.

To feel worthy, you must take a responsible approach to fulfilling your duty. This applies to specific obligations and assignments undertaken. But this also includes fulfilling family obligations, a responsible attitude to work assignments, the ability to keep promises and understand the significance of one’s words and actions.

How not to lose dignity and honor?

Having done something that is against his honor, having lost his dignity, a person loses not only faith in himself. He deprives himself of a sense of confidence, self-esteem and plunges into the abyss of despair and self-abasement.

This can be fixed. But if you, having committed an offense for which you are ashamed, and do not correct it, you continue to fall lower, degrading to a state that is most often described as dishonorable, fallen. At the very least, you will feel worse and worse.

Usually, the one who lost himself often did not want such an outcome. In order to recover in his own eyes and the eyes of those around him, he will need to figure out how to correct what he has done: he must develop a plan for how the damage caused will be corrected and compensated. No matter how difficult it may seem.

Beware of people who achieve their goals through manipulation. They don't care about you or your well-being. They have selfish interests towards you. And, by the way, this is exactly the type of people who will tell you, insist that they are your friends. Don't fall for it. Happiness

(S, L: perhaps an introduction that sets the tone for the discussion). Love, kindness, conscience... How often do we say these words when talking about something ordinary, everyday! Sometimes just to express your emotional state, without putting deep meaning into the spoken word.

But what is true love, kindness, conscience, and is it easy to follow these spiritual and moral components of the human personality?

Love... It would seem (V) much simpler: love... and that’s it!!! But what prevents you from living with love in your soul? It is likely that love is not only a great joy, but also a heavy cross, revelation and mystery, suffering and happiness... How to combine all this in one soul? (L: new paragraph) Let's look at examples of their fiction. In the famous “Tale of Peter and Fevronia” (/) Muromsky” Princess Fevronia loves her husband brightly and tenderly, her soul reaches out to his soul, comforts his soul, not allowing it to fall and die. He takes upon himself all the heaviest and most sorrowful things. Her love is selfless. She was given to know that only her love would save the prince. (

At a time of exile and wandering, he has no person closer, no more reliable support than his wife (V) God given. Her pure love helps the prince’s soul to free itself from everything false and vain. She wisely leads him along the path of spiritual improvement: she will not reproach him when he stumbles, forgives him when he is mistaken, comforts him when he suffers... And in this she is helped by wise, selfless, gentle, patient love. ( C: elements of semantic analysis of the text of a work of art should be added.)

But in modern language the word “love,” unfortunately, “sounds different.” Won't it "decrepit"? I hope not, as long as there are examples of true love. (C: inclusions should be added that reflect the personal position of the author of the essay). (L: new paragraph). Wisdom allows love to be subordinated to selflessness. The lyrical hero of A.S. Pushkin’s poem “I loved you...” captivates the reader precisely with his wisdom to love. Saying goodbye to his love that has not yet cooled down, the hero of the poem blesses his beloved so that in her new love she will be happy, loved “sincerely and tenderly”: “How God grant that your beloved be different.” (C: inclusions should be added that reflect the personal position of the author of the essay). (C: elements of semantic analysis of the text of a work of art should be added.)

There is also such love, holy and sincere, which embraces the whole world, warms and enlightens it. She does not shout about herself, but modestly gives herself to people. Showed us such love (R. error, defect) A. Platonov in the story “Yushka”. ( L: paragraph division is possible.) What deep feelings live in wretched Yushka! He feels (/) himself orphaned when he sees beetles and butterflies falling dead, he is afraid to damage the flowers even with his breath... He is not angry with children who run around (/) his. He believes that children love him, but they don’t know (V) what to do for love. He believes that the people love him too, only “without a clue,” since “people’s hearts can be blind.” (L: new paragraph) What about us? We have forgotten how to love the world around us: we have fenced ourselves off from the natural world with concrete, plastic, metal. We do not notice that we are gradually getting used to the absence of living nature, turning it into a “workshop” and forgetting that it is a “temple.” (C: must inclusions should be added that reflect the personal position of the author of the essay). (S, L: micro-conclusion on the established thesis + logical bridge to the next paragraph.) But in it, in the words of F.I. Tyutchev, “... there is a soul, there is freedom... - in it there is love, in it there is language". By severing our connection with the world, we lose our moral support.

So how can you return a person to the moral path and cure his “blind heart”? Probably, we all need a Yushka who will open his eyes to what true love and kindness are.

Criterion No. 1 “Relevance to the topic”

The graduate responded to the proposed task, avoided substituting it, chose his own path of reasoning, formulating theses that he tried to develop in a reasoned manner. The author of the essay partially accompanies the reasoning with a personal assessment of the position of the objects of reasoning. One can highlight a successful approach in revealing the intention of the work: students independently identified the problem of reasoning in the form of a problematic question: “What is true love, kindness, conscience, and is it easy to follow these spiritual and moral components of the human personality?”

Although the graduate constructs a statement on the basis of theses related to the topic, relying on works of art, he avoids using literary material in a volume sufficient to carry out a semantic analysis. Literary material does not lead the student, but is used by him only as a basis for his own reflections. The substantiation of the theses with references to the text of A.S. Pushkin’s poem “I loved you...” could have been more detailed.

The volume of the essay is within the acceptable limits – 300 words
