Stamina is the best program for learning fast typing on the keyboard. Keyboard simulator - learn to write quickly with all fingers

A blogger, a copywriter, and any computer user often uses a keyboard. Typing is a standard procedure when working with a PC, but you can type with two fingers (or worse, with one), constantly looking at the keyboard, or you can master the touch typing method. We will talk about how to learn to type touch-type.

In this article you will find information about the basic rules of touch typing, common mistakes made by beginners, as well as the speed at which those who have mastered this typing technique type. At the end of the article, links will be given to one of the best books - “”, author V.Yu. Kholkin.

I have been using the ten-finger touch typing method for over 6 years now, and my average typing speed is 300 characters per minute (without strain). And by concentrating, I achieve better values (up to 400 clicks!). You, too, can master touch typing if you devote at least an hour a day to this task for 2-3 weeks. Yes, at first you will type text very slowly, thinking before pressing each key. But then you will type much faster and more accurately than when you were looking at the keyboard.

It is especially important to master touch typing for those who have a part-time or main job. But any blogger should be able to touch type because:

  • a huge advantage of touch typing is high typing speed (up to 500 keyboard strokes per minute);
  • those who look at the keyboard while typing ruin their cervical vertebrae and tire their eyes, constantly looking from the monitor to the buttons;
  • Internet users who touch-type get tired much more slowly.

1. Rules for touch typing

If you decide to master the touch typing method, then immediately remember two main rules:

  1. While typing You can't look at the keyboard!
  2. Every finger must press only “your” keys!

Never violate these principles. Even if some key turns out to be “difficult” for you, still don’t peek. So you will only remember the wrong algorithm (seen - clicked), which will be deposited in your head, and it will be extremely difficult to relearn! Even if you have mistakes, they are easy to fix. Over time, typing accuracy will only increase.

2. Placement of hands on the keyboard

2.1 Dialing rules

The placement of the hands in the ten-finger touch typing method is the same for typing in any language. We will consider a special case - the Russian keyboard.

So, on any keyboard, the buttons are arranged in six rows. The topmost one is auxiliary; it is not used for touch typing, so you can completely forget about it.

The bottom one (zero) is a row with the keys “space”, “Alt”, “Ctrl” and others.

The fourth row is a row of numbers, it is used quite rarely. Most often, when typing numbers, they resort to the numeric keypad located to the right of the main one, and the second row is again not used. This can be explained by the fact that the fingers have to reach far - this slows down the typing speed. And the number of typos is increasing. Still, it’s worth mastering the second row, but you don’t need to focus on it.

There are different methods of hand position, but the main one is clearly visible in the figure:

The main position of the fingers on the keyboard is the supporting row of the keyboard: FYVA(little finger, ring finger, middle finger, index finger - fingers of the left hand) and OLJ(index, middle, ring, little finger - fingers of the right hand). At the beginning of learning, the fingers should lie on “their” keys, but over time they will no longer rest on the keys, but will begin to hang above them at a distance of several millimeters. This will happen on its own, as a result of moving to a higher level of professionalism. There is no need to artificially speed up this process; it will bring nothing but harm.

To control the position of the hands, there are small protrusions on the [A] and [O] keys. By feeling them with the index fingers of your right and left hands, you can control the correct position of your hands on the supporting row.

2.2 Auxiliary keys

First, you should master the keys , , , , , and [Space].

[ keyBackspace], used to delete characters to the left of the cursor, is in the fourth row, the number row, and is always pressed the little finger of the right hand.

[ keyEnter] also pressed the little finger of the right hand. In very rare cases (with large hands), it is permissible to press this key with the ring finger.

Key [ Tab] pressed little finger of the left hand.

[ keyShift] used to change to upper case (set of capital letters). There are two such buttons on the keyboard: one on the left, the second on the right. They are used as follows:

  • if you need to type an uppercase character with your right hand, then you press left [ Shift] left little finger. For example, the keys “O”, “Y”, “G”, “T”, etc.
  • if you need to type an uppercase character with your left hand, then you press the right [ Shift] with the right little finger. For example, keys “A”, “B”, “I”, “M”, etc.

[ keyCtrl] can be used when changing the language (for example, from Russian to English). There are also two such buttons - on the right and on the left. They're pressing right and left little finger respectively.

[ keyAlt] practically not used for touch typing (the Ctrl+Shift keys are used to change the language). There are also two of them, which can be pressed if necessary thumbs.

[Space] key one of the most frequently clicked. She's gaining left or right thumb(whatever is more convenient for you). If you're right-handed, you'll likely find it easier to press the space bar with your right thumb.

2.3 Basic keys

The correct placement of hands when touch typing can be seen in the figure above. As you can see, the index fingers take the main load on themselves, as the most mobile fingers of the hand. They are the ones who have to press the most popular letters of the Russian language (“a”, “o”, “r”, “m”, “i”, “p” and others) - this is how the Russian keyboard is designed. It’s also hard for the little finger of the right hand - such is the fate of Russians: our alphabet has more letters than the English one.

You should remember the location of the keyboard buttons in this order:

  • first, all “own” buttons are studied by the left index finger, after that – by the right;
  • Next, the work of the middle finger of the left hand is practiced, after that - the right;
  • left ring finger, after it - right;
  • the left little finger, followed by the right.

3. Useful materials

You can learn to touch type on your own. To do this, just open any book and start printing it. On the first pages you will remember which finger presses which key. And a little later you will achieve automaticity, your fingers will begin to press the necessary buttons themselves. But this method of teaching is very difficult, and not everyone can do it.

So I recommend two helpful resources to help you get up to speed. They contain step-by-step exercises that make it easier to learn the ten-finger touch typing method. I ask you to pay special attention to the first source - the book by Vladimir Yuryevich Kholkin Ten-finger touch typing method on a computer . I studied it myself and am very grateful to the author for how simply and clearly the book explains the principle of touch typing.

3.1 Book by Kholkin V.Yu.

In general, the book is paid, it costs about 50 rubles. But I will give my readers and subscribers a link to download this material for free. Download the book Ten-finger touch typing method on a computer Can via this link. Archive.rar weighs 9.5 megabytes, it includes a scanned book in djvu format, a deja vu reader and a useful notepad that allows you to determine the printing speed. The book allows you to learn how to touch-type in Russian and English.

To open the book, you need to go to the djvureader_2_0_0_26 folder and run the DjVuReader.exe file

Once the reader starts, click File -> Open

And in the window that appears, you need to select Kholkin’s book, as in the screenshot below (the book is located there - in the downloaded archive):

If you do everything correctly, you can start learning to touch-type.

3.2 Keyboard solo

If someone is uncomfortable using the book, then he can use the program Keyboard solo . The program is shareware, you will have to pay to access the full version. You can download this simulator on this page . The program is considered one of the best programs for teaching touch typing, so I recommend downloading it and familiarizing yourself with it. Touch typing training is conducted in several languages (in particular, Russian).

But in general, both sources (book and simulator) are similar to each other.

It’s really quite difficult to learn how to quickly type text on a keyboard, there are no options, you’ll have to master the ten-finger touch typing method, this is when you don’t look at the keyboard, but only at the screen, and press the keys with the right letters correctly. My situation with this matter is completely deplorable, I type sentences with my nose at the keyboard, and then check for errors, in general, I spend a lot of extra time. The best keyboard trainer for teaching the ten-finger touch typing method today is Stamina.

The installation of the program is standard, a standard list of questions, a license agreement and in which folder to install everything. It’s nice that this short procedure takes place in Russian.

Before you start your training, I recommend that you go to the help file and get acquainted with how to correctly position your fingers on the keyboard, believe me, after this the training will be much more fun and easier. After which we can press start and begin training, which consists of individual lessons with increasing complexity, gradually getting used to standard combinations of letters to complex phrases. Those who find the lessons boring can go to the “Phrases” mode or upload their text file. Extreme people can choose “ALL letters”, where they will run a mishmash of letters, numbers, punctuation marks and other printed symbols, after such mockery they will definitely learn to type texts of any complexity without looking at the keyboard.

To make it easier to understand where the desired key is located that needs to be pressed, and not be distracted from the screen, it is highlighted on the virtual keyboard. Plus, we highlighted the contours with which fingers are more convenient to press a certain block of keys, with the correct positioning of the hands.

After each lesson, statistics are given, how many mistakes were made, and what is the speed of typing characters per minute. The same information can be seen by clicking “Progress” in the main menu at any time, but only if you are working in the “Phrases” mode.

Separately, it is worth mentioning the unique sense of humor of the program’s author, which permeates everything from the inscriptions, the help file and ending with the sound. It will definitely lift your mood, although some may not like all these farts and grunts coming from the speakers. The most extreme sound can be turned off in the program settings, but you can get rid of all sounds by performing surgery by deleting the contents of the Sound folder.

Stamina even got its own player (very simple and very unique), which will brighten up your life while you are doing serious business. To add a separate song, a folder with your favorite music, or edit a playlist, press “F12” or go from the main menu “Options->List of songs...”, then I think you’ll figure out what to do and what buttons to press.

In Settings, you can change the sound volume for different events and adjust the appearance of the program in accordance with your concepts of beauty.

Now I'll give you some advice. Run the program in Windows 7 only as an administrator, then errors will not pop up indicating that some files are missing. The program comes with ready-made dictionaries in Russian, English, Ukrainian, Bulgarian, Portuguese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Polish, Romanian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish and Swedish for teaching touch typing . If you can’t enable Stamina to work on one of them, check that this input language is installed in the operating system, after which everything should work.

First of all, Stamina captivates with its seemingly frivolous approach to business, but this does not mean that it cannot teach you how to quickly touch-type, that’s all right. The main thing is not to stop halfway, but to follow the path of a student and become a master.

Works great in 32 and 64 bit operating systems. The program interface has been translated into several languages, including Russian, and who doubted it, it was made by our compatriot. The language is selected automatically depending on the settings of your operating system.

Want to become a speed dial master? Type 100 words per minute and type boring documents faster?

Fast typing is almost a vital necessity. Proper use of the keyboard greatly affects our productivity. By typing quickly, you become more productive and “keep pace with your brain.” The skill of fast typing allows you to write down the thoughts that constantly sound in your head before you lose them.

In addition, it reduces fatigue. When you type long text and constantly move your eyes from the keyboard to the screen and back, your eyes get tired very quickly and begin to hurt. The thing is that they constantly have to change their focus. And if you add the difference in lighting, it becomes clear why unpleasant sensations appear even after short work on the computer.

These 7 tips will help you type quickly and efficiently even while blindfolded:

1. Get rid of bad habits

This point is the most difficult on the path to the art of fast typing. And I'm not talking about eating cakes at 2 am. Although it’s better to get rid of this habit too :) Most likely, you type the text in the same way that you used when you first got acquainted with the keyboard. Right? This also applies to the placement of hands on the keyboard and peeking.

If you like to play games, then most likely you keep your hands over the “C”, “F”, “Y”, “V” keys. And there are those who use only 2 fingers out of 10. If you are one of them, you have to keep looking at the keyboard to press the correct letter.

But do you want to work for speed? You urgently need to get rid of this habit and start using your hands correctly.

2. Use all 10 fingers

You ask What is the correct way to place your hands on the keyboard? If you look closely at your keyboard, you will see that the letters "A" and "O" ("F" and "J" on the Latin layout) have small protrusions. This will help you find the correct place for each finger without looking at the keyboard.

Place your left hand fingers on the “F”, “Y”, “B”, “A” keys, and your right hand on the “F”, “D”, “L”, “O” keys. This is the middle main row of the keyboard. Place the index fingers of both hands on the keys with protrusions.And then look at this diagram:

The colors indicate the keys that are convenient to press with each finger from the starting position.

There is an alternative hand position that many will find more comfortable. Place the fingers of your right hand over the letters “Y”, “B”, “A”, “M”, and your right hand over “T”, “O”, “L”, “D”. In this case, the hands are in a more natural position, but your little finger will have to work hard.

Choose the position you like best. This factor does not greatly affect the speed.

3. Learn to touch type

People who type large volumes of text every day remember where each key is located. Looking at the keyboard only slows down the process.Learning to keep your eyes open takes practice. And it will take you more than one hour. But if you constantly train, you will notice within a few weeks thatyour fingers “remember” which area “each of them is responsible for”.

Even if it slows you down a lot right now, try not to look at the keyboard. Try entering a sentence. Remember where each letter is. You can sneak a peek at one symbol just once. But you don't need to look where each letter is located. Every day it will become easier for you to type.Once you remember where everything is, all you have to do is choose your typing speed.

4. Remember basic keyboard shortcuts

Not surprisingly, every operating system has a set of “hot keys” that perform different functions. Your hands are already on the keyboard, so why waste time and be distracted by the mouse?You don't have to remember absolutely every combination.Only the most basic:

  • Ctrl+C – copy;
  • Ctrl+X – cut;
  • Ctrl+V – paste;
  • Ctrl+Z – cancel;
  • Ctrl+S – save;
  • Ctrl+F – find a word;
  • Ctrl+A – select all;
  • Shift+→/← — select the next letter;
  • Ctrl+Shift+→/← — select the next word;
  • Ctrl+→/← — go to the next word without highlighting;
  • Home – go to the beginning of the line;
  • End – go to the end of the line;
  • Page Up – go up;
  • Page Down – go down.

You can use some keyboard shortcuts for quickly working with pages in browsers. Here are some of them that will be useful for you:

  • Ctrl + Tab – go to the next tab;
  • Ctrl + Shift + Tab – go to the previous tab;
  • Ctrl + T – open a new tab;
  • Ctrl + W – close the current tab;
  • Ctrl + Shift + T – open a tab that was just closed;
  • Ctrl + R – refresh page;
  • Ctrl + N – open in a new browser window;
  • Shift + Backspace – go forward one page;
  • Backspace – go back one page.

Most of these keys are located near the little finger, so it will be involved in typing “hot combinations” most often.

5. How to learn to type online at speed

You don't have to turn the art of super-fast typing into a boring, gray task. There are many programs you can use to add fun to the process. Here are a few “allies” that will help you conquer the keyboard and enjoy typing:

  • TypeRacer

This funny program will teach you how to quickly type on a Latin layout. Your typing speed is shown as a typewriter. You are given a small piece of text that you need to type faster than other users. It's like racing. The one who completes it first is the winner.

  • Touch Typing Study

This app allows you to learn to type in a wide variety of languages. There are even hieroglyphs. You are offered a list of lessons. With each new one the task becomes more difficult. It all starts with memorizing the main row. In the first lessons you are asked to type a meaningless set of letters. This helps to concentrate not on the meaning, but on the arrangement of symbols, in order to print full-fledged texts at speed in the future.

  • Stamina

One of the most popular simulators in the CIS. This small program can be downloaded from the official website. Adds a little fun to your workouts and offers a selection of different letters and words.

  • Sense-lang

Also provides you with a set of lessons. First, you need to type a set of letters; with increasing complexity and speed, words and sentences appear. You can take a test to test your typing speed and select any language, or type a piece of text of your choice.

6. Practice the rhythm

Typing rhythm is the amount of time between key presses. The smoother it is, the faster you will learn the technique of touch typing. Return your fingers to the starting position after pressing the key.

7. How to learn to type quickly

Take your time when you first start learning touch typing techniques. Increase the speed only when you feel that you have learned the location of the keys and press them out of habit without thinking. Take your time to avoid , and always keep 1-2 words in mind that come next. By gradually increasing your speed, you will not only type quickly, but also begin to do it efficiently.

Conclusion

Now you know how to learn to type quickly. You may ask, does it make a difference on what type of device and manufacturer you type text on? No!Of course, there are several designs, models and layouts. Choose their design to suit your taste. And these recruitment rules are universal. The only thing that changes if you have a keyboard with a layout different from the standard “QWERTY” is the location of the letter “Ё” and some other symbols.

It is difficult for a modern person to imagine his life without a computer. Despite the fact that users of all ages spend a significant part of their time on a laptop, few people have any idea how to correctly type on a keyboard with both hands. Typing speed is a useful skill that allows you to save time when working with text. Any user can master fast typing, and he will not need any super abilities or expensive courses. You just need to be patient and put in a little effort, and within a few weeks you will be able to quickly and error-free type text of any complexity.

Fast printing methods

Learn to type quickly

There are only two main methods of fast typing: visual and “blind” ten-finger typing. The first method is used by most people: looking at the keys, a person types the text with one or two fingers (usually the index or middle). The second method is more professional and involves the user typing with all fingers of both hands, without looking at the keyboard.

"Blind" printing method

Touch typing

This method assumes that certain letters are assigned to each finger. The main thing is to initially “place” your hands correctly and practice pressing certain keys. For example, the index finger of the left hand corresponds to the letters “A”, “P”, and the right - “O”, “P”, etc. By repeating the actions many times, over time, the work of your fingers will become so automatic that you will no longer need to look at the keys.

Advice

You can say that you have completely mastered the method if your consciousness does not control the movement of your fingers.

Rules for typing using the ten-finger method

To quickly master typing with ten fingers, it is recommended to follow these recommendations:

  1. The pressure must be sharp, without delays or pressure, otherwise fluency will not be achieved.
  2. You should not hit the keys too hard, otherwise you may develop joint disease.
  3. Strokes on the keyboard should be uniform and rhythmic.
  4. Make sure that there is no “bending” of the fingers.
  5. Proper landing is half the success. You need to sit on a chair calmly, relaxed, without tension in the spinal column, without slouching or leaning on the back.
  6. You need to start learning with the correct placement of your hands - the index fingers should be located on the letters “A” and “O”, the rest should be located on the middle line of the keyboard on the remaining three keys in order.
  7. Now is the time to develop mechanical skills. With the help of special training programs, you need to type certain words without looking at the keys.
  8. The more repetitions you do, the faster you will master the skill of touch typing.
  9. The text you type should be well lit and on the left side.

Just a few years ago, computers began to appear en masse in every home. And today users are looking for all kinds of . To learn more about the touch typing method, read this article.

Fast typing on the keyboard has many advantages, including saving time, rhythmic typing (which will significantly reduce physical fatigue of the hands), speedy employment in the desired position (which, of course, will be closely related to working on a computer), logical and complete presentation of thoughts .

Therefore, users, in an attempt to learn how to type quickly, attend courses that not only take up precious time, but also money. And as a rule, the cost of such courses is quite high. You can learn this craft, with a significant amount of desire, at home.

Basic rules for fast typing on the keyboard.

1. The key to effective work is the right tool. Give preference to keyboards that are chosen by professionals - ergonomic ones, where the letters are divided into two parts for the right and left hands. Thanks to such a keyboard, your hands will get much less tired, and typing text on it will be much more convenient.

2. Also, one of the most important aspects of fast printing is the correct workspace. The rules for working at a computer are clearly visible in the image below.

3. When a child begins to learn his native language, he begins to learn the alphabet. It’s the same here: before learning how to quickly type, you need to learn the location of letters and symbols on the keyboard. This can be done, for example, in the following way: For 10-15 seconds, look at one letter row out of three and try to remember the location of the letters in this row. After the time has passed, take paper and pen and play the memorized series. Repeat the task several times for each row until you make no mistakes.

Then you can proceed to printing the alphabet. Start typing letters on the keyboard, starting with the letter A and ending with Z. You should quickly type the desired letter without wasting time searching for it.

4. The number of fingers used greatly affects the typing speed. If you use several fingers when typing, your results will be significantly lower than if you used all 10 fingers. Some programs for teaching fast typing also teach the correct placement of fingers. At first it will be very difficult to relearn, however, after some time you will see obvious results.

5. Regularity is very important. It is impossible to learn fast typing by studying 2-3 days a week. If you are serious about learning to type quickly, then try to devote at least 20 minutes to training every day.

Touch typing method on the keyboard.

As the name suggests, the method involves typing text on the keyboard with your fingers, but without keeping your eyes on the keyboard.

When learning this method, your hands should be placed on the front of the laptop or on the wrist rest (for an ergonomic keyboard).

To work with this typing method, you need to remember which keys belong to which finger.

There are a total of 6 rows of buttons on the keyboard. The top row, including the f1-f12 buttons, is used extremely rarely, because This is an auxiliary keyboard row, so it is not taken into account in the touch typing technique.

The next keyboard row contains numbers, so its use depends on the type of activity you do. Some users often use the secondary number pad, which is located on the right side of the keyboard, instead of the top number row, so here you should focus only on your preferences.

And finally, the third row, from which teaching touch typing begins. There is no single way to place your fingers on the keyboard, however, the image below shows the most common one, which is used in most programs for teaching fast typing.

You need to remember the bindings of your fingers to certain buttons as follows: first you should remember the letters of the index finger of your left hand, then your right. By analogy, gradually move on to the middle fingers, ring and little fingers. The simulators given at the end of the article contain special dictionaries containing words for training each finger. In addition, these simulators work online, which means they can work
