The Skolkovo transport hub will replace Trekhgorka at the end of the year. What should passengers expect? What is an electronic ticket and electronic registration?

Skolkovo metro station(full name “Skolkovo Innovation Center”) is a large multimodal transport hub built into the Skolkovo science city. In addition to several railway platforms, road transport interchanges, elevated covered passages, a parking lot, a business center, a shopping center, a hotel and other infrastructure facilities will be built here.

An office center is planned to be built next to the railway platform.

In June, the press service of Glavgosstroynadzor of the Moscow region reported that.

Construction progress of the business center and Skolkovo metro station

However, at the moment, judging by the appearance of the construction, it seems that it will not start this year. The editors of BUSINESS (ODINTSOVO) addressed questions to the General Director of the United Directorate for Asset and Services Management Skolkovo Anton Yakovenko.

It is ODAS "Skolkovo" that is a full-cycle master developer and management company of the territory of the Skolkovo Innovation Center, created to ensure the implementation of the master plan of the innovation center: from the creation of the Master Plan and Territory Planning Project before putting objects into operation and their further maintenance.

It turned out that metro station "Skolkovo" will be launched in February 2019, but the first trains will be launched in test mode in December 2018.

“The launch of the Skolkovo Innovation Center station is planned for February 2019, simultaneously with the commissioning of the Transport Hub. The launch of comfortable commuter trains with a cycle of at least one pair per hour is scheduled for December 2018. It is planned that until the completion of the Hub’s construction, passengers will use the platforms on a temporary basis,” Anton Yakovenko told the editor of BUSINESS (ODINTSOVO).

Let us remind you that the station metro Skolkovo will replace the Trekhgorka commuter train station. Trekhgorka will be completely eliminated and residents of the area will use the Skolkovo Information Center station.

Skolkovo station will be located on the branch metro station Odintsovo-Lobnya and will be the second station after Odintsovo.

From the Odintsovo-Lobnya diameter you can transfer to 13 metro stations, two MCC stations and also make two transfers to radial railway lines.

Construction of the Skolkovo transport hub will be completed in December 2018. Anton Yakovenko, General Director of the Joint Directorate for Asset and Services Management of Skolkovo, reported this to the Moscow 24 portal.

“The facilities included in the multimodal transport cluster will be built simultaneously. At the end of the fourth quarter of 2018, a stop and transfer station, a 400-meter pedestrian crossing across the Minsk highway and an office center will be built. Construction is being carried out with investor funds, which is about $170 million. At the same time, the Russian Railways company will lay the third and fourth main tracks, and also erect railway platforms,” Yakovenko said.

According to him, after the opening of high-speed rail traffic between Skolkovo and Belorussky Station, the journey to the Skolkovo innovation center will be about 23 minutes. A tower consisting of 21 floors will be built near the railway, which will house exclusively offices and shops. Tenants will begin work by summer 2019.

400 meter crossing

Now builders are installing metal structures for a 400-meter crossing across the Minskoye Highway. According to Anton Yakovenko, this is the most complex object of the transport complex, since the structure will be built without supports under serious load. “On one side, people will walk along the passage, and on the other, there will be a line of shopping pavilions. The model of a shopping gallery has been implemented at airports. On the way to work at the Skolkovo Information Center or from work, rushing to the train, you can buy a newspaper, coffee, a bun - everything you need,” noted the general director of ODAS Skolkovo, adding that retail facilities will create an additional load on the crossing structure, and that is why for builders this is one of the most difficult objects. Yakovenko also explained that the shopping gallery will continue on the platform, and as a result, the total length of the shopping street will be 1.4 thousand meters.

The long crossing will be left without travelators (so-called moving sidewalks), although the path was planned to be installed in the original version of the project. “Travolators to speed up the pace will require significant financial costs, and will also lead to a heavier crossing structure, so we decided to abandon them. We will have to cover 400 meters on foot, but the quality of access from the platform to the Skolkovo Information Center and from the center to the platform back will not be affected,” - Yakovenko promised.

The Skolkovo multimodal cluster will unite several modes of transport. A turning area for buses will be created near the station and surface parking for 200 cars will be built. At subsequent stages of development of this zone, it is planned to create up to 1,200 parking spaces. According to the portal’s interlocutor, parking spaces will be located in the railway allotment area. “Open surface parking spaces will be organized on a strip 50 meters wide and about a kilometer long,” he specified.

Farewell to Trekhgorka

Yakovenko also said that after the completion of the Skolkovo station, the Trekhgorka stopping point of the Belarusian direction of the Moscow Railway will be closed and dismantled. “Trains will stop stopping here,” he said.

According to him, it makes no sense to leave Trekhgorka after the construction of the Skolkovo transport hub, located half a kilometer away. “This issue was discussed with representatives of the Moscow Railway, the leaders of the Odintsovo district, and a logical decision was made to close and dismantle the Trekhgorka stopping point. At the same time, the comfort of movement for Trekhgorka residents will improve,” Yakovenko is sure.

The investor will build paths for pedestrians from Trekhgorka, and a road for vehicles to pass through. “Pedestrians will walk from Trekhgorka to Skolkovo in more comfortable conditions. Now this distance must be covered by transport through traffic jams, then cross the road in several places using pedestrian crossings, which is really not very convenient and even dangerous. After the construction of the hub, a completely different one will be created comfort of the transport connection between Trekhgorka and Skolkovo,” the general director of ODAS Skolkovo is convinced.

According to him, the new railway station will have two exits: one towards Trekhgorka, the other towards the Skolkovo Information Center, and now those arriving at the Trekhgorka platform can only exit on one side, and make their way to Skolkovo along unimproved paths. “After the opening of the station, passengers will be able to exit on both sides, this will divide the passenger traffic to Trekhgorka and Skolkovo. In addition, the proximity to such a transport hub leads to an increase in housing prices by 10-15%. So, residents of Trekhgorka will also gain financially,” - Yakovenko is convinced.

He also recalled that the transport hub project is already six years old; its implementation began in 2012, when the master plan for the Skolkovo innovation center appeared. “According to the concept of the center, the priority is public transport, which should be electric, and only then personal vehicles. Our partners, the Safmar group, owned a plot of land on the other side of the Minsk highway. They agreed to give it up for the implementation of a transport hub , and then invest money in the construction of facilities,” explained Anton Yakovenko.

The Skolkovo Innovation Center is a modern scientific and technological innovation complex under construction in Moscow. The first science city to be built from scratch in Russia in post-Soviet times. The complex will provide special economic conditions for companies operating in priority sectors of modernization of the Russian economy: telecommunications and space, biomedical technologies, energy efficiency, information technology, and nuclear technology.

According to 2017 data, 1,640 companies are residents of Skolkovo, ten percent of which are already entering global markets. Residents' revenue in 2016 amounted to almost 50 billion rubles.
By the end of last year, the volume of constructed space will be half a million square meters, and by 2020 it will exceed one million.

At the beginning of the school year, the Skolkovo gymnasium opened, which became a platform for various types of children's creativity and special educational programs and will closely cooperate with the institute. Construction of the third and fourth phases of the Technopark, the largest in Europe, continues.

The Skolkovo Innovation Center, the Russian analogue of the American “Silicon Valley,” is without a doubt the main scientific project implemented in our country and the first scientific and technical complex, the main principle of which was the commercialization of the latest developments.

Simply put, this is the first “science city” since the times of the Soviet Union, the construction of which began from scratch. Therefore, it is not surprising that for the successful functioning of the territory of high scientific significance, it was decided to connect Skolkovo to the Moscow electric train line, which, as is known, is one of the largest in the world and is constantly expanding.

It is for this reason, by the way, that electric trains have become very popular not only in the capital, but also in other regions of the country, as they allow you to quickly get to your desired destination, significantly save passengers money, and, more importantly, facilitate the transport situation on the roads.

According to the project, high-speed trains will move in the direction “Belorussky Station - Odintsovo” and reach the final station in just twenty minutes. Skolkovo will become the penultimate station on the route

If you believe numerous online sources, the project has already received approval and enlisted the support of major investors, so all that remains is to organize the work efficiently and not turn the construction of the branch into a long-term construction project.

In addition to the main goal of making Skolkovo more accessible, the new railway line will help relieve some of the congested sections of the nearby road.

In the case of Skolkovo, passengers will find not just a new station, but an entire multimodal transport hub that combines several modes of transport: thus, the main object of MMTU will be a 400-meter overpass, which will allow local residents to freely cross railway tracks and the highway.

In addition, the hub will include a multi-storey hotel, several shopping centers with developed entertainment infrastructure (cinema, cafe, bowling alley) and even a car showroom. And, most importantly, according to rough estimates, the project will provide at least eight thousand jobs in total.

As for the technical side of the issue, it is worth noting that the construction of an overpass will significantly change the movement of public transport, since at least five new bus stops are planned.

Qualitative changes will also affect the infrastructure necessary for comfortable road traffic: in addition to several road pockets intended for emergency parking of cars, the project of the new transport hub will include an underground parking capable of accommodating three thousand cars at a time, as well as surface parking for a thousand cars.

According to engineers, this will be enough to solve the problem of lack of parking spaces on the territory of the innovation center. It is planned to launch the route “Belorussky Station - Odintsovo” in the summer of 2018 in order to test the effectiveness of the transport solution by the fall.

What else will change in 2018

The changes planned for 2018 will affect not only the construction of a new railway line, but also the entire railway network as a whole. Thus, according to the engineers’ plans, the branches of all commuter trains should be connected to the Moscow Central Circle (MCC), as this will help optimize the routes of high-speed trains.

Also in 2018, at five stations - Rizhsky, Paveletsky, Yaroslavsky, Kazansky and Savelovsky (the Okruzhnaya platform will be moved closer to the station) overground and underground passages will be built, which will make it easier for passengers to access railway transport.

The Frezer station will also receive a new underground passage with exits to Frezernaya Street and Andronovka station. The Leningradskaya platform, located not far from the central ring, will be moved six hundred meters closer and two crossings will also be built - with access to the Streshnevo station and to the Leningradskoye direction.

Preparing trains for the 2018 World Cup

To improve the quality of travel between Moscow and nearby settlements during the 2018 FIFA World Cup, Russian Railways plans to purchase about twenty-five double-decker high-speed electric trains.

The renewal of the railway fleet in this case is due to two reasons:

  • During a sporting event, passenger traffic will increase significantly, which will create enormous stress for the entire city transport system.
  • The train fleet has long been in need of purchasing new electric trains.

By the way, in the foreseeable future, some analysts consider it possible to completely switch the transport network to double-decker electric trains. And this is despite the fact that such a move could have a negative impact on the already difficult transport situation: a large capacity will increase the disembarkation time for passengers from one minute to two or more, and this will entail other problems

Especially for the FIFA World Cup, special excursion trains will be launched for fans, equipped with information boards, audio guides, a special area for children, as well as comfortable folding passenger seats designed for comfortable sleep. Such trains will be painted in the colors and symbols of the upcoming Championship.

Thus, we can say that the Moscow government has chosen the right time to modernize and update the railway transport networks, thereby combining business with pleasure: a sporting event will be a good test of the quality of the changes, and not only residents of the capital, but also foreign guests will be able to appreciate the innovations.
