Interesting quizzes for schoolchildren. "in the world of interesting things" quiz game for primary school

Children sometimes compete with each other in erudition.

“Compete” comes from nature: from puppy games and cockfights.

“In erudition” - this comes from human society: from the cult of knowledge, from the authority of education, the prestige of horizons.

Children compete in erudition spontaneously. They just brag to each other: “Do you know what raisins are made from? But you don’t know! They pick it out of the buns.” Adults also compete in erudition and also boast, but they do it consciously. Adults in general are distinguished by consciousness and purposefulness. For them, the result is much more important than the process. This is probably why they took the initiative: to compete according to the rules and determine the winner. This is how quizzes, intellectual games, eruditions, tournaments of experts and many other things arose with different names, but a single essence: all of these are specially organized competitions in erudition. Adults participate in them themselves and actively involve children. Children, because they love to compete, willingly accept the invitation to compete according to the rules.

The most important thing in organizing a quiz is the rules and questions. Depending on what rules you choose, the number of teams, the composition of participants, and even the arrangement of furniture during the game will be determined.

If you take the rules of the club “What? Where? When?”, you will have one team of six people sitting in a circle in the center, surrounded by opposing spectators who came up with questions the day before. If your quiz is similar to “Lucky Chance,” then there will be two teams of four people each, and you will have to prepare the questions. Well, if you come up with your own version of the rules, then it is quite possible that the entire class or squad will take part in the quiz game, and there will be no teams at all - there will be an individual championship.

Coming up with the rules, in other words, the “plot” or “form of the game,” is very risky. If you do not take into account some little thing, a conflict may arise, the noble goal will turn into its opposite. Instead of a joyful pastime, you will get a spoiled mood, instead of uniting the children's team - disunity and resentment harbored against you, as the main provocateur. Therefore, if you do not have experience in developing intellectual games, it is better to use already tried and tested templates. Moreover, today all television channels treat us weekly to a wide variety of erudition competitions. In recent years alone, “Finest Hour”, “Brain Ring”, “Sharoban”, “Kino-Chance”, “Zigzag of Fortune”, “The Magnificent Seven”, “Key to Success” have appeared on the screen, and, of course, — “Field of Miracles.” It is preferable to conduct your own game based on the television one also because the children will not have to explain the conditions of the competition for a long time. They already know them, because they “communicate” with the TV no less than you.

If you don’t have questions prepared in advance, you’ll have to come up with them. Although it is not entirely simple, it is exciting. And if you start writing questions together with the children, your assistants from the initiative group, this is also useful: you will have a good conversation with the children for 1.5-2 hours, learn about their interests and reading range, and enrich the children with your own extensive knowledge.

When writing questions, you must be guided by the following rules:

— it is impossible for a question to turn into a task requiring a detailed answer (“Give a description of the water cycle in nature.”);

- it is impossible for the question to require highly specific in-depth knowledge (“Who was the commandant of the Poltava Fortress during the famous battle of 1709?”);

- it is impossible for a question to require a listing answer (“Which teams were world champions in football?”);

— it is impossible for a question to consist of three questions (“Who, when and why invented gunpowder?”);

— it is impossible for the question to be primitively stupid (“Isn’t current strength measured with an ammeter?”).

All questions in which these principles are violated are incorrect, and most often because of them, protests arise, challenging the jury’s decision, resentment and tears. To prevent these undesirable phenomena accompanying the game, it is better to immediately abandon “dubious” questions.

Questions selected by topic (“About nature,” “About technology,” “About sports,” “About famous travelers”) always look very favorable. The theme can be a separate film or a work of literature. Even for the fairy tale “Kolobok” you can come up with at least ten witty questions.

In addition to the rules and questions when organizing eruditions, it is important not to forget about other conditions for success. These conditions are no different from those that must be met when organizing, for example, a sports relay race - a competition in which the main thing is competition. This means that there must be competent referees, beautiful decorations, rituals of matches and the end of the game, and awards. And there must also be a leader who can quickly navigate the situation and is easy to speak. Since you will probably be the presenter, think in advance what you will say when introducing the participants, when commenting on the answers, and with possible prompts from the audience. Remember what phrases can escalate tension and maintain game intrigue: “mysterious whisper”, “explosive jubilation”, “bewitching pause”.

If you have taken all this into account, also consider the time factor. Your educational quiz should not last more than an hour. It’s better to spend a game every day than to tire everyone out with one multi-hour intellectual marathon. Good luck to you and your little scholars!
