Is it possible to pass the Unified State Exam with 100 points? The main advantages of the Lancman School Educational Center

Photos from open sources

Perhaps it is possible to say without exaggeration that 99.9% of modern schoolchildren strive to successfully pass the Unified State Exam. At the same time, they want not only to pass it, but to score more than 80 points out of a possible 100. This will help you get into the institute or university of your dreams for the best specialty.

In fact, all universities are guided by the scores scored by the applicant when choosing students for themselves. It is especially important to successfully pass the exams for those who plan to study on a budget basis. These factors of modern education once again emphasize the need for high-quality preparation for the Unified State Exam.

The Unified State Exam or Unified State Exam is a form (tests) of state certification that shows the knowledge of high school students in the field of secondary general education. In total, this exam is organized in 14 subjects, two of them are compulsory - Russian language and mathematics. The rest are chosen by the student himself, based on what a particular department and specialty requires. These could be:

Social science;

Story;

English language;

Geography;

Literature;

Informatics;

Biology;

German.

As statistics show, every year the level of the unified exam becomes more and more difficult. And this dynamic is observed in absolutely all subjects. While preparing for one level of difficulty, the student sees something completely different during the exam itself. In order to score 80-100 points, a modern applicant needs to know much more than what the school curriculum provides. This cannot be done without diligence, labor, perseverance and a professional assistant.

Official representatives of the Federal Service for Supervision of Education and Science reported that in 2017 the number of students who failed the Unified State Exam decreased noticeably, but still a fairly large percentage of schoolchildren fail the Unified State Exam. Mathematics is considered one of the most difficult subjects; let us remind you that this subject is mandatory. In total, 3.4 percent of teenagers failed this exam last year.

If a student does not pass exams in compulsory subjects (mathematics and Russian), he can do it again within the prescribed time frame, but the result is rarely good, and universities will still know about this. BUT! If a student fails the exam in an elective subject, he will be able to retake it only the next year. Because of such a failure, the dream of entering the chosen university is postponed at least until next year. That is why you need to take the Unified State Exam seriously and pass the exam well or excellent the first time.

Most experts and even school teachers will say that to successfully pass tests you need to turn to professional tutors. However, it is worth understanding that many teachers have settled on “that” preparation for exams, which has long been outdated. Therefore, you need to approach the choice of a tutor with all responsibility. In search of such a modern center that will help them pass the Unified State Exam with excellent marks, schoolchildren often turn their attention to Lancman School.

Lancman School(http://lancmanschool.ru/) has become one of the most successful educational centers helping in preparation for state exams. In addition, Lancman School has a network of its own private schools and kindergartens where English is taught in depth.

The main advantages of the Lancman School Educational Center:

1. The center’s experience in the field of education is 14 years, during which time the organization managed to learn all the intricacies of passing state exams, select and form experienced and competent staff, successfully graduate many high school students and acquire other important qualities and invaluable experience.

2. More than five thousand high school students of the center achieved their goal and entered the university they dreamed of, becoming qualified specialists in their field.

3. Only a professional can help a teenager pass the Unified State Exam with maximum results. Only seven percent of applicants for the position of Lancman School employee end up in an educational center where they practice strict selection of candidates. Thanks to this, any student here is sure that his teacher is a professional in his field.

4. A whole network of branches of Lancman School educational centers was built in Moscow; everyone can choose the center that is located as close as possible to their home.

5. Classes are held in a group of 2 to 8 people - these are small groups in which the teacher can pay attention to each of the students. This format is considered one of the most effective and is comparable to individual tutoring. But, at the same time, participants can feel a competitive spirit, will communicate with each other and help, and this is also important when preparing for the Unified State Exam.

The head of the Lancman School Unified State Exam course network is Mikhail Lancman, who himself has been a mathematics tutor for more than 10 years. He knows firsthand how to prepare for this exam. And all the tutors who work in its center master their subjects at the same high level.

A clear indicator of the success of Mikhail and his center are his students, who every year score maximum scores not only in mathematics, but also in other subjects, taking courses at Lancman School. Mikhail takes his work very seriously and allows only those people who are professionals in their field to tutor.

As statistics show, the average score that schoolchildren get in mathematics is 47. This is critically low in order to enter a university and receive a quality education. Many of these students prepared for the Unified State Exam with the help of teachers, some attended special courses to prepare for the Unified State Exam, but for a number of reasons this is not enough. When choosing courses, you should be very careful and remember that your fate is at stake. Your education. Your job. Your successful life.

Courses should be taught to small groups. The tutor must give each student the right amount of attention and monitor his learning process and the quality of his knowledge. In large groups this is simply not possible.

Pay attention to the tutor's qualifications. How many years has he been doing this activity? What is the pass rate for his students? If you have chosen a training center to help you prepare, find out how its teachers are selected.

In order to get maximum results in exams, you need to make the right choice of tutor. You cannot sign up for preparatory courses with the first teacher you come across and believe that this is already enough to successfully pass the exams. To pass the Unified State Exam, you need to put in a lot of work and diligence, and you have to make many decisions to achieve this goal. And one of the most important, perhaps, is the right choice of tutor.

As part of the “Last 30” project, which explores the phenomenon of the post-Soviet space, ten former graduates who once wrote the Unified State Exam with 100 points told how they prepared for the state exam and gave advice to those taking the Unified State Exam 2015.

1. Anna Konovalova, journalist

“I didn’t choose chemistry right away... Two years before graduation, my dad, a physical chemist, advised me to take chemistry. At some point I realized that I liked chemistry, so I chose the Faculty of Pharmacy.

I studied very intensely. The special course in chemistry was taught once a week for three and a half hours. To this were added three chemistry lessons during the week. I visited the tutor twice a week for an hour and a half. In addition, I went to biomedical school twice a week.

For those who are now preparing for the Unified State Exam, it is very important to hire a tutor. It very rarely happens that a person is very smart, purposeful and is able to control his own process of preparing for the exam. And please, don’t start preparing for the Unified State Exam in May.”

6. Petr Dorozhilov, student at the National Research University Higher School of Economics

He studied in Sergiev Posad and passed mathematics with 100 points in 2013.

“I started preparing for the Unified State Exam as soon as I passed the State Examination in the ninth grade. As a result, I passed mathematics very calmly and without worry, because I was confident in my own abilities.

I wish this year’s graduates to prepare diligently, solve as many options as possible and not try to cheat on the exam.”

7. Olga Kuzmenko, student of Moscow State University. M.V. Lomonosov

The mandatory exam for which absolutely all schoolchildren prepare is the Russian language. Only a few manage to get the coveted maximum number of points. The guys who did it share their experience.

SOLVE A LOT OF TESTS

I took three additional exams, in addition to mathematics and Russian. During preparation, I placed the main emphasis on them. I have never had problems with the Russian language. It seems to me that this is, first of all, the merit of my teachers. In addition, I completed my homework on time. The most important thing is to pass the exam well, you need to solve, solve, solve tests. As many different options as possible, of course, with an analysis of the mistakes made.

We were well prepared at school for this exam, but I was very worried about the essay. I thought that some rare topic would come up and I wouldn’t be able to come up with arguments, but I was lucky - a book that I read for fun a week before the exam helped.

It is imperative to carefully study the structure of the CMM, read books, solve tests, and not limit yourself to preparation at school if you are not confident in your abilities.

Of course, this year has been very busy. Preparation for exams, enormous pressure (first of all, I exhausted myself, because I wanted to enter the budget at St. Petersburg State University, and I needed high scores), the unknown ahead, and then waiting for the results. The whole year passed in a blur. Constant tutors, textbooks, rehearsals for the last bell and graduation. Often there was a state when I wanted to give up everything, just watch TV series, even start studying physics (although I am a humanities scholar), just do at least something so as not to touch reference books and CMMs. In fact, I’m very glad that all this is behind me, because it was some kind of nightmare.

When I found out that I had 100 points, I didn’t believe it until I saw the result myself at my school. Even after that it seemed to me that this was some kind of mistake or a trick. I still can’t say how it happened!

“ENTRY-EXHALE” ON THE EXAM

“And most importantly, if you start to panic, take a deep breath, remember that you know everything, and get to work!” – with these words, the Russian and literature teacher escorted us to a neighboring school to take the Unified State Exam. It’s funny now to remember with what gray-green faces we walked for those ten minutes. And either the huge bars of chocolate or the weekly writing of essays activated the brain, but five people from the class passed with more than 90.

When we were first shown an impressive number of tasks in Russian, which are updated annually on the FIPI website, we felt a little uneasy. The list of paronyms at first glance did not seem complicated, because most of them were well-known, and gaps in knowledge were discovered only when solving tests. I tried in vain to memorize columns of new words until someone came up with a great idea: keep a small notebook and write down tasks and sentences that were difficult there. As it turns out, communicating with a notepad is much more convenient than with an unorganized pile of papers.

By winter, my small notebook was filled with explanations and examples. This thing should become your companion for a year. When you get bored, just scroll through it. Something will be remembered. It’s great when you present the right page of your book during the exam, and this will help in identifying incorrectly placed stress in a word.

By the end of 11th grade, solving tests every two weeks turned into a most exciting activity. The interest of my classmates also helped a lot. We agreed to learn five accents a day from the existing list and test each other.

So it turns out: if you make learning a holiday and use the acquired knowledge in life, cover the house with stickers, learn accents and paronyms in advance, it will be easier. It is these topics that require cramming, so it is better to solve them more and more often. The tasks in the Unified State Exam are of the same type; within six months you can understand which of them will be included in the KIM and which will not. The task is narrowed down - all that remains is to get better at it.

What can really cause difficulties is the essay. No one can teach you how to give examples from literature right off the bat if you don’t read. Everything will go well with the essay only for those who know at least some works. Both classical literature and high-quality modern literature are suitable here, even science fiction can be useful.

You can keep a notebook and divide it by topics that occur most often: war, love, nature, humanism, and so on. It wouldn’t hurt to write down the names of the main characters, last names, and patronymics of the writers once again. This will not only help, but also calm you down.

A high score on the Unified State Exam in Russian does not imply very deep knowledge; you do not have to be a novice philologist to pass at 98-100. It is important to study hard, solve as many options as possible and write, write, write essays, type up arguments.

There is no need to hire a tutor; you can find all the material yourself.

When the exam time was up, I didn’t think about him, but only panickedly tried to remember which letter I wrote my middle name with. While performing tasks, emotions turned off; such a moment of calm gave the feeling that everything was not just good, but couldn’t be better. The technique: “Inhale-exhale” certainly worked. When people ask how I managed to get 100 points, which I never even dreamed of, I can only say that 90% of success is work, and 10% is real luck. It comes when, after many solved options, you come across one that has already been implemented.

100 POINTS IN RUSSIAN LANGUAGE DOES NOT GUARANTEE ADMISSION TO A UNIVERSITY

Veronica Stakhmich, did not enter the budget even with 100 points in the Russian language

I can’t say that I prepared hard for the exam. It probably helped me that I studied Russian for 11 years at school, I tried and wanted to understand something. I changed teachers four times, then I read everything at home on my own, realizing that I needed to know the language. I started preparing for the Unified State Exam in 10th grade, when I realized that I wanted to enter a serious university, and for this I needed good exam results. 100 points was something unrealistic and impossible for me. But through my own experience, I proved that I was wrong.

All the work, practicing writing essays and solving tests in the evenings resulted in an excellent result, which I couldn’t believe at first. When I saw the number 100 on the website, I was shocked for some time. But joy quickly gave way to surprise.

It seems to me that the most important thing in 11th grade is patience, because the Unified State Exam is, of course, stressful. But exams should not be scary; you must believe that you will be able to score high and overcome this stage of life. The most important thing is to set a goal, understand what you want to achieve and strive for it. Neither the pressure of parents nor the diligence of teachers will help as much as believing in yourself.

It seems that 100 points ensures admission to your dream university, but in reality this is not the case. I am a medalist with 100 points, but I didn’t get into where I wanted. The result is no university.

St. Petersburg is a city of excellent universities, so many graduates from all over Russia want to study here. But we have strict testing during the Unified State Examination, and, consequently, the results are lower in a number of subjects. I passed literature with a good score, but it is not the highest compared to applicants from other cities, who have the maximum score for each subject. Nonresidents apply, but St. Petersburg residents do not.

Does 100 points in one subject guarantee admission to university? No!

The Unified State Exam is a centralized exam conducted in Russian educational institutions. Thanks to control measurement materials, it helps to assess the quality of students' preparation. In this article we will learn how to pass the Unified State Exam, which exams to take and how to get 100 points.

Since 2009, the Unified State Exam has been a form of final exams at a lyceum or school, as well as a form of entrance exams to universities. The list of compulsory disciplines is represented by mathematics and the Russian language. Other items are chosen at your discretion. This could be a foreign language, literature, computer science, physics, geography and others.

The number of optional subjects selected for delivery is not limited. When compiling a list of disciplines, students are guided by the requirements of the higher educational institution chosen for admission.

They take the Unified State Exam from May to June. The legislation provides for early and additional periods of delivery. The first occurs in April, and the second in July. Graduates of the current year who:

  • Conscripted into the army;
  • Going to a Russian or international Olympiad;
  • Are sent for treatment abroad;
  • They graduate from a Russian-language school in a country with a difficult climate.

The additional period provides for the passing of the Unified State Exam by foreign citizens, graduates of previous years, and graduates of primary vocational education.

On Russian territory, the conduct of the state exam is controlled by the Federal Service for Supervision in the Field of Science and Education with the support of executive authorities of Russian constituent entities. If testing is carried out abroad, in addition to Rosobrnadzor, the founders of an educational institution that has passed state accreditation participate in the procedure.

The evaluation of the final certification results is based on a 100-point system. For each discipline, a minimum score level has been established, overcoming which confirms that the student has mastered the school educational program. Unified State Exam results are considered valid for 4 years following the year in which the student received them.

If the result of a participant in the final certification in a compulsory academic discipline does not reach the established minimum level, a retake in an additional period is provided. If the second pass was unsatisfactory, you are allowed to try your luck again, but in the fall. In the case of an elective subject, everything is more complicated. A certification participant who does not score the minimum number of points is forced to wait a year to retake the exam.

Important! State testing participants who are removed from the classroom for misconduct, cheating, or cell phone use are subject to severe penalties. Their results are canceled, as is the right to retake an additional period. Re-taking is allowed after a year. So there is no point in cheating in the exam.

How to pass the Unified State Exam if you don’t know anything

Pedagogical practice shows that schoolchildren, instead of preparing for exams, relax and chat with friends. In the old days, in the absence of knowledge, quickly made cheat sheets came to the rescue of lazy schoolchildren.

The introduction of the Unified State Exam has significantly complicated the procedure for passing state testing. Commission members closely monitor each student, and the use of cheat sheets and electronics is severely punished. How to successfully pass the certification if during the preparatory period things did not come to study? I have some advice on this matter.

  • If Judgment Day is still a few weeks away, start preparing. Use the services of a tutor and pay special attention to solving trial tasks. Learning the basics is the key to success if you don't know anything.
  • If the test is in a few days and you don’t have time to study the material, skim the pages of the textbook. It is possible that at an important moment visual memory will come to the rescue. I talked about how to improve memory in one of the articles.
  • When test day arrives, stay confident, grab your pass, passport, some pens and pencils, a ruler and eraser, and go. Also make sure that you have a bottle of mineral water and a chocolate bar in your backpack.
  • Once in the classroom, choose a seat you like, sit comfortably at the table and take a few deep breaths. Don't worry. You've attended classes throughout the year and you've probably left something in your memory.
  • After receiving the package with forms and assignments, slowly fill out the registration information. When the teachers give the go-ahead, get down to business. You have 4 hours at your disposal.
  • Start with what you know. Having completed easy tasks, switch to more complex tasks. Even if difficulties arise with the decision, do not rush to leave the audience. Sit until the last minute. There are often cases when the correct answer comes at the last moment.

People who are well acquainted with the procedure for passing the final certification claim that many schoolchildren greatly exaggerate the complexity of the situation and lower their level of knowledge in their thoughts. It's all due to severe stress. If you strive to achieve a goal, curb your panic, calm down and get ready to work. This is the secret of success.

What Unified State Examinations are taken in 11th grade in 2019?

According to available information, to obtain a certificate in 2019, passing tests in 11th grade in mathematics and the Russian language is not enough. Now you need to pass an additional optional exam.
If you do not plan to study at university, opt for a simple school discipline.

The full list of subjects available for choice is presented in literature, chemistry, physics, history, geography, social studies, computer science and foreign languages.

Among the innovations in 2019 is the absence of a test part, with the exception of foreign languages. Therefore, prepare responsibly as the written exam is more difficult than the multiple choice test.

Rumors have appeared that in 2019, grades for the Unified State Exam will affect the marks on the certificate, either down or up. There are also plans to make the Russian language exam more difficult. This year, graduates will face more challenging assignments. As for the essay and the criteria for its evaluation, no changes are provided here.

The list of the most popular exams in universities is represented by the exact sciences, including computer science, chemistry and physics. This is due to a shortage of qualified engineers in the country and a surplus of economists and financiers.

Periodically visit the portal of the Federal Institute of Pedagogical Measurements. Documents related to passing the Unified State Exam are regularly published here. There is also a table of changes that will help you get a complete impression of the innovations.

Which Unified State Exams do you need to take for admission to universities?

It is impossible to enter an institute or university without a certificate of passing the Unified State Exam. It is important that a graduate planning to become a student at one of the universities must pass exams to enroll. In this part of the material I will consider several popular areas and help in choosing school subjects to take. And remember that mathematics and Russian are compulsory.

  1. If you are planning to enter a medical school, prepare to take the Unified State Exam in chemistry and biology. Dentists need to pass a physics exam. Some universities require a foreign language test.
  2. Those who want to study to become a psychologist need to pass an exam in biology, which is considered a major subject. Depending on the chosen direction, sometimes you need Unified State Examination results in a foreign language. It all depends on the university.
  3. If you see yourself as a teacher, prepare to take the relevant subject. In particular, to enroll in physics and mathematics, in addition to the main exams, you need physics. For a chemist-biologist, there is a test in chemistry and biology, and so on.
  4. There are many faculties available to graduates who want to study at Moscow State University. For example, if you choose the department of “Recreational Geography and Tourism”, take the Unified State Exam in Geography, and the department of “Philosophy” will require natural science.
  5. MIPT also has requirements. To enter this university you need computer science or physics. It all depends on the direction chosen by the graduate.
  6. Educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have special requirements for applicants. They give preference to graduates who have passed the Unified State Exam in social studies, history, physics or biology, depending on the field. Each graduate will also have to pass sports standards.
  7. For those who want to become a student at the Military Space Academy, I recommend concentrating on preparing to take the Unified State Exam in physics. Without this major subject, as well as without sports standards, the university will not accept you.

In conclusion, I would like to add that each educational institution has its own requirements for the Unified State Examination results. If you have already decided on the university and faculty, contact the admissions committee for detailed information. This will protect you from a life-changing mistake.

What you need to know to pass the Unified State Exam with 100 points

Graduates seeking to enter the university prepare to take the Unified State Exam with all responsibility. Many aim to achieve 100 marks in all subjects. It is not surprising, because the maximum score indicates that the graduate has knowledge from the school curriculum at the highest level. Such results open the way to any of the universities.

Many people believe that it is impossible to pass the Unified State Exam with 100 points. In reality this is not the case. With timely and proper preparation, any student has the opportunity to pass tests and get the highest score.

Let's look at the nuances of pre-exam preparation. This set of simple recommendations will help you pass the Unified State Exam with 100 points in the following subjects: social studies, biology, history, Russian and foreign languages, mathematics, physics and chemistry. Let's get started.

  • Stock up on textbooks for the subjects you have chosen to take from sixth to eleventh grade. During preparation, pay special attention to the topics that cause the most difficulty.
  • Study the exam questions to get an idea of the questions you will face in the exam. Keep a diary, make a preparation schedule. For each item of your plan, allocate enough time to study the material in depth.
  • Take notes. When reading textbooks, write down basic concepts and terms. Drawings and diagrams will increase the efficiency of memorization. Between the outlined topics, leave free space to record new or additional information on important issues.
  • Teachers like it when students talk. Learn to give detailed answers, give reasons, give explanations, use terms. Meaningful answers will increase your chances of receiving the highest score.
  • Visualize new information. As practice shows, cramming is a pointless waste of time. Delve into the topic you are studying, take advantage of associative memory, and imagine images.
  • Get a test guide for your chosen subjects and spend a lot of time working on them. Self-study will help you master the material and hone your skills in solving standard problems.
  • Start preparing early. Regardless of the subject you choose, you will have to study a huge amount of information. It takes time to master such a volume. Start preparing at least a year in advance. To improve the quality of knowledge, I advise you to use the services of a tutor or sign up for thematic courses.
  • Harness time. A certain amount of time is allocated for testing in school subjects. Complete all tasks if you take into account the time frame. At the same time, in pursuit of 100 points, you will have to solve problems quickly and correctly. To improve your skills, I recommend using the demo version of the Unified State Exam on the department’s website.

If you have set a goal of 100 points in all subjects, be prepared for labor-intensive and lengthy preparation. The recommendations outlined will make your life easier and will be a good help.

Answers to questions

Do I need to take the Unified State Exam after college or technical school?

At the initial stage of its introduction, the Unified State Exam evoked a lot of different emotions among college and technical school graduates. This is justified by the state testing receiving the status of entrance exams to Russian higher educational institutions. What does it mean?

Having a certificate of passing the final certification opens the way to any university if the test results meet the requirements established by the university. People who graduated from school before 2009 do not have such a document. And if they continued their studies at a college or technical school, after graduation they are interested in whether they need to pass the Unified State Exam to enter a university? The further development of the situation has two scenarios.

  • A graduate of a college or technical school who wishes to continue his studies at a university in accordance with his specialty will not be required to take a state exam. To enroll in a university, it is enough to pass a specialized exam.
  • If a student received one specialty in college or technical school, and at the university wants to master another profession, there are two ways to solve the problem. The first involves passing the Unified State Exam, and the second - passing entrance exams, as was before.

The introduction of new rules deprived graduates of technical schools and colleges of some advantages that help them to be guaranteed admission to university. But having a diploma from a secondary educational institution still gives the student more confidence.

How to pass the Unified State Exam for a graduate of previous years

There are often cases when a desire to undergo state certification arises from a graduate who graduated from school in previous years. This is good, because it is never too late to get a higher education diploma. In this part of the material we will talk about the intricacies of passing the Unified State Exam by graduates of previous years.

Passing the Unified State Exam for a former graduate has a peculiarity - you do not have to take compulsory subjects, except in cases where mathematics and Russian are needed for enrollment in the chosen specialty.

Graduates of previous years take the Unified State Exam ahead of schedule or along with the main wave. To do this, an application for taking the exam is submitted in advance to the municipal education authority, indicating the main and additional disciplines, a passport and a certificate.

In addition to personal information, if you studied for a long time, the application indicates the name of the completed educational institution, details, form of study and date of receipt of the diploma. Graduates from other countries who wish to continue their studies at a Russian university must present a foreign passport, the original education document with a certified translation from a foreign language.

To obtain admission to the final certification, an essay is written. This innovation does not apply to graduates of previous years. The work is written solely at will. However, some universities award several points for an essay upon admission.

Graduates of previous years take the Unified State Exam at the place of application. If you live in another city, you do not need to return to your hometown to obtain a certificate.

In the article, we looked at how to pass the Unified State Exam if you don’t know anything, gave tips for getting 100 points and answered popular questions. Rational preparation combined with a positive psychological attitude, strong motivation and absolute calm will help you get the best results.

Don't panic, and on the morning before the certification, concentrate on mental preparation, and not on skimming through textbooks. Such actions only escalate the situation.

According to statistics from previous years of passing the Unified State Exam, schoolchildren received the highest average scores in exams in the subjects “International Relations”, “Linguistics”, “Oriental Studies” and “Jurisprudence”. The average score of those who planned to connect their lives with nuclear physics, sociology, information technology or the oil industry was about 70.

However, the number of 100-pointers increases year by year. Thus, in 2015, the number of people taking the Unified State Exam increased by 100 points across the country by almost 1,000 and amounted to 4,600. Most of them - 3,046 people - earned the highest score in the Russian language, which is a compulsory subject. This is followed by chemistry (about 500 people), physics and literature (230 hundred points each). English turned out to be the most difficult language - the number of those who passed the elective exam barely reaches several dozen.

Just as they try to modernize the Unified State Exam system year after year, schoolchildren are finding optimal ways to prepare. As the excellent students of 2016 told RT, they did not need any special tricks to pass the exam with 100 points. However, for none of them this result was an accident.

Psychological support

According to Daria Lovtsova, who passed the Unified State Exam in chemistry with 100 points, the key to her success was intensive study for six months. She mastered theory in chemistry lessons and consultations at school, and honed her practice with a tutor. The tutor helped Lovtsova a lot morally. According to the 100-scorer, before the exam she was intimidated from all sides by the difficulties of the Unified State Exam. But the tutor not only taught Daria how to cope with problems of any complexity in previous years, but also convinced her that she was quite ready to take chemistry.

“I turned to a tutor only because everyone around me was studying with tutors, and it seemed to me that I was preparing poorly, insufficiently, incorrectly. Here, rather, the psychological aspect worked. I don’t know if I would have been able to achieve the same result without the help of a tutor. When you have a tutor, it increases your motivation and makes you work hard on your assignments. It comes down to finances, responsibility to the teacher, oneself and parents, and to the school chemistry teacher - amazing, by the way - I didn’t want to lose face. In general, you can master everything without a tutor, because there are tons of materials for preparation all around, and they are freely available. But without it, it’s much harder to force yourself to use it all.”

When there are only a few days left before the exam, Daria advises you to try to cope with the anxiety that prevents you from adequately assessing your abilities and concentrate.

“Undoubtedly, the Unified State Exam is an important stage, but it is not as scary as it is made out to be. The exams have already begun, there is very little time left to prepare, but enough to overcome your anxiety. You need to eat well, get enough sleep and not sit until the morning before the exam.”

Thorough approach

The psychological aspect of the Unified State Exam was also noted by Elizaveta Shabanova, who in 2016 passed Russian language, literature and social studies with 100 points. According to her, schoolchildren are pressured long before exams with stories about the Unified State Exam, not forgetting to remind them about metal detectors and evil observers. Elizaveta advises preparing calmly and measuredly, and then going to the exams without unnecessary nerves and with enthusiasm. Active participation in olympiads in Russian language, history and social studies allowed her to come to the exams ready for any difficulties.

“At first I participated out of a desire to become a leader, to enter a good university, taking advantage of the benefits for Olympiad participants,” Shabanova shared. “But during the preparation process, a strong interest in learning new things appeared, a thirst to meet unusual, really smart guys at these intellectual competitions. The Olympics have ceased to be a means of entering a university - participation in them itself has become a goal for me.”

Not just for the exam

Elizaveta Shabanova studied the subjects that interested her much more deeply than the school curriculum required. While preparing for the Russian exam, she read etymological dictionaries, which, according to her, helps to better understand the current state of the language, studied textbooks on linguistics, and solved assignments from previous years.

“History has certainly become more time-consuming and effort-intensive, because the scope of this subject is simply limitless! I read textbooks by both modern authors and classics of historical science - Klyuchevsky, Solovyov, Kostomarov. “I watched various programs and lecture courses, and again read archaic texts, without which it is impossible to understand the era and its unique culture,” says Elizaveta. — My knowledge of Russian studies and history helped me a lot in studying social studies. I can also recommend the textbooks of Melville, Heywood, Sorvin, Smelser... And it is very important to be interested in what is happening around you, watch the news, read articles, because purely theoretical knowledge will never be enough.”

Another 100-score student, Liliya Dalshevskaya, was helped to pass the exam by her love for the Russian language. The second reason for her success was systematic preparation. Lilia did not start the subject throughout the entire educational process and often wrote essays - this task initially caused her the most difficulties.

“You should always hope for the best. Reviewers are people too, and I think they enjoy reading essays. It is unlikely that they will give a low score if it is written really well,” says Liliya. “I wasn’t worried about the composition, I just tried to put my whole soul into it. If I got the highest score, it means I gave it my all.”
