Born on March 15, 1911 in the village of Pichaevo, now Zherdevsky district of the Tambov region, in a peasant family. Russian.

Graduated from 6th grade. In 1930 he left for the Far East. Lived in the city of Khabarovsk. He worked at a factory, in construction organizations, unloaded barges with bricks and cement for the future city of Komsomolsk-on-Amur.

At the end of 1933 he was drafted into the Red Army. He served in the city of Vladivostok, served in the artillery regiment of the 1st Pacific Rifle Division. He graduated from veterinary school with the title of junior veterinary assistant. Until 1937 he was in long-term service. After being transferred to the reserve, he worked as a veterinary assistant at the Srednebelsky grain state farm in the Ivanovo district of the Amur region.

In August 1941 he was again drafted into the army. He served in the Far East. In the winter of 1943 he was sent to the active army. By the fall of 1943, Sergeant Kashirin A.I. - commander of the 45-mm gun crew of the 529th Infantry Regiment of the 163rd Infantry Division. For the destruction of a heavily fortified enemy firing point, he received his first combat award - the medal "For Courage". He particularly distinguished himself in the battles for the liberation of left-bank Ukraine in the summer and autumn of 1943.

On August 8, in a battle in the Kharkov direction near the village of Lomnaya (Belgorod region), Sergeant Kashirin A.I. with the crew, repelling an enemy counterattack, he knocked out 2 tanks and destroyed up to 30 Nazis. In further battles, in the offensive in the Kiev direction, near the village of Sakunikha (Nedrigailovsky district, Sumy region of Ukraine) and the village of Brovary (now a city in the Kyiv region of Ukraine), he destroyed 9 firing points and about 2 platoons of enemy infantry.

U KAZAK of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR on October 29, 1943 for the successful crossing of the Dnieper River, the strong consolidation of a bridgehead on the western bank of the Dnieper River and the courage and heroism shown to Sergeant Kashirin Alexander Ivanovich awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal (No. 4351).

In a battle near the city of Belaya Tserkov, he was seriously wounded by shell fragments in the back, neck and legs. He was treated in a hospital in the city of Ufa for more than 7 months. In 1945, senior sergeant Kashirin A.I. - demobilized. Returned to the Far East.

He worked on the island of Sakhalin, then at the Teploozersky cement plant in the Obluchensky district of the Jewish Autonomous Region. He lived in the village of Izvestkovy, Obluchensky district, now the Jewish Autonomous Region, and in recent years - in the city of Khabarovsk.

He was awarded the Order of Lenin (October 29, 1943), the Order of the Patriotic War, 1st degree (03/11/1985), medals, including the Medal “For Courage” (09/07/1943).

In the city of Khabarovsk, on house No. 5 on Gerasimova Street, where the hero lived in recent years, a memorial plaque was unveiled.
