Our Atlantic Ancestors
GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE ATLANTEAN CULTURE
The floor of the modern Atlantic Ocean was once a continent, which for about a million years was the scene of a culture completely different from ours. Plato spoke about the last remnant of this country, about the island of Poseidonia, which lay to the west of Europe and Africa, which died about ten thousand years before Christ.
Our Atlantean ancestors differed from modern man much more than anyone who is entirely limited in his knowledge to the sensory world can imagine. This difference concerns not only appearance, but also spiritual abilities. Their knowledge and their technical skills, their entire culture was unlike what can be observed in our time. Logical reason, on which everything we now produce is based, was completely absent from the first Atlanteans. But they had a very developed memory. This memory was one of those most distinctive spiritual abilities...
It must be remembered that whenever a new ability develops in a being, the old one begins to lose strength and sharpness. Modern man has the advantage over the Atlantean that he has logical reason and the ability to reason. But his memory was lagging behind. Now people think in concepts; Atlas thought in images. And when some image arose in his soul, he recalled many other similar images that he had experienced before. This guided his judgment. Therefore, teaching was different then than in later times. It did not seek to arm the child with rules or refine his mind. The child was taught life with the help of visual images, so that when he subsequently had to act under certain conditions, he could already use a large store of memories.
This system of education gave the whole life an imprint of homogeneity. For a very long time everything was done in the same monotonous order. Faithful memory did not allow anything even remotely resembling the speed of our modern progress. The Atlanteans did what they had "seen" before. They didn't invent anything, they just remembered. The authority was not considered to be the one who studied a lot, but who experienced a lot and could therefore remember a lot. In the Atlantean era it was impossible for the decision of any important question to be left to a person who had not yet reached a certain age. They trusted only those who could look back on many years of experience.
What is said here does not apply to initiates and their schools. For they are always ahead of the level of development of their era. And admission to such schools does not depend on age, but on whether a given person in his previous incarnations acquired the ability to perceive higher wisdom.
The trust accorded in the Atlantean era to initiates and their representatives was based not on the wealth of their personal experience, but on the antiquity of their wisdom.
While the logical power of thinking was absent among the Atlanteans (especially of the earlier period), a very developed memory gave all their activities a special character. Memory is closer to the deep natural basis of man than the power of reason, and in connection with it some other forces were developed that had a greater resemblance to the forces of lower natural beings than the current human forces. So the Atlanteans had power over what is called life force.
The Atlantic village of the early period had a character that was in no way reminiscent of a modern city. In such a village, everything was still in union with nature. We will get only a very faintly similar image by saying that in the first Atlantean times - approximately until the middle of the third sub-race - the village resembled a garden in which houses were built from trees with branches skillfully intertwined. What the human hand created then seemed to grow out of nature. And the man himself felt completely related to her. Therefore, his sense of community was still completely different than it is now.
In the Atlantean era, plants were cultivated not only for food, but also to harness the powers dormant within them for technical purposes and means of communication. This is how Atlantean set in motion its flying machines that flew over the earth. At that time, the air shell that enveloped the earth was much denser than it is now, and the water was much more liquid and its properties differed from modern ones. When an Atlantean needed his physical strength, he had, so to speak, the means to increase it in himself. We will only then form a correct idea of the Atlanteans if we take into account that they also had completely different concepts about fatigue and waste of energy than modern people.
The predecessors of the Atlanteans lived on the now disappeared continent, the main part of which lay south of present-day Asia. In theosophical writings they are called Lemurians. Having gone through various stages of development, most of them fell into decay. They degenerated, and their descendants continue to inhabit some areas of our land as so-called savage peoples. Only a small part of Lemurian humanity was capable of further development. From it came the Atlanteans.
This should not be imagined as if the development of a new subrace is accompanied by the immediate disappearance of the old one. Each subrace continues to exist long after others have developed along with it. Thus, the earth is always inhabited jointly by inhabitants representing different stages of development...
Atlantean subraces
Location of Atlantean subraces at the end of the Atlantean era (15-20 thousand years ago)

1 Rmoagaly. 2 Tlavatli. 3 Toltecs. 4 Proto-Turanians. 5 Proto-Semites. 6 Akkadians. 7 Mongols.
The first subrace of the Atlanteans came from a part of the Lemurians that was very ahead of its contemporaries and capable of further development. Among the latter, the gift of memory was only in its infancy and appeared only in the last period of their development. One must imagine that although the Lemurian could form ideas about his experiences, he did not know how to preserve them. He immediately forgot what he had imagined. And that he nevertheless lived among a certain culture, had, for example, tools, erected buildings, etc., he owed this not to his own ability to imagine, but to some, so to speak, instinctive spiritual force that lived within him. Only by this word we must understand not the present instinct of animals, but an instinct of a different kind...
The first subrace of the Atlanteans in theosophical writings is called the Rmoagals. The memory of this race was mainly directed towards vivid impressions of the senses. The colors that the eye saw and the sounds that the ear heard continued to live in the soul for a long time. This was reflected in the fact that the Rmoagals developed feelings that their Lemurian ancestors did not know. Such feelings include, for example, attachment to what was experienced in the past.
The development of memory was also associated with the development of speech. Until a person stored the past in his memory, he could not communicate what he had experienced through speech. And since at the end of the Lemurian period the first rudiments of memory appeared, then the ability to name what was seen and heard could begin to develop. The names of things are needed only by those who have the ability to remember. Therefore, the development of speech belongs to the Atlantic period. And along with speech, a connection was established between the human soul and external objects.
Man generated a sound word within himself; and this sound word belonged to the objects of the external world. Communication through speech also creates a new connection between people. The Rmoagals had all this, though still in a young form; but this already radically distinguished them from their Lemurian ancestors. The forces that lived in the souls of these first Atlanteans also had something in common with natural power. These people were still, to some extent, more closely related to the natural beings around them than their descendants. Their mental powers were even more natural forces than the mental powers of modern people. Therefore, the sound word generated by them had natural power. They not only gave names to things, but their words contained power over things, as well as over their fellow humans.
Among the Rmoagals, the word had not only meaning, but also power. When words talk about magical power, they mean something much more real for these people than for our modernity. When the rmoagal uttered a word, it developed the same power as the object itself designated by this word. This explains that in that era words had healing powers, that they could promote the growth of plants, tame the fury of animals and perform all sorts of other similar effects. All these abilities diminished more and more in the later Atlantean subraces. We can say that the fullness of natural power was gradually lost.
The Rmoagals felt the fullness of natural power entirely, and their attitude towards nature was of a religious nature. Speech in particular was something sacred to them. And the abuse of pronouncing certain sounds that had significant power was something impossible. Each person felt that such abuse would cause him great harm. The magical power of such words would be reversed; correctly applied, they could bring good, but they would also turn to the destruction of the one who used them lawlessly. In a certain innocence of feeling, the Rmoagals attributed their power not so much to themselves as to the divine nature operating within them.
All this changed in the era of the second subrace - the so-called Tlavatli. People of this race began to feel their personal worth. They develop ambition, a quality still completely unfamiliar to the Rmoagals. The memory begins, in a sense, to influence their perception of their life together. Anyone who could look back on any deeds demanded recognition from his fellow men for this, demanded that his deeds be preserved in memory. The election of a leader by some close-knit group of people was also based on this memory of exploits.
A kind of royal dignity developed. This recognition continued even after the death of the leader. There was a remembrance of the ancestors and reverence for their memory, as well as for everyone who distinguished themselves with some merit in life. From here, some individual tribes subsequently developed a special type of religious veneration of the dead, the cult of ancestors.
The development of memory influenced life together in another way: groups of people began to form, connected by memories of common deeds. Previously, such formation of groups completely depended on natural forces, on common origin. Man, with his own spirit, has not yet added anything to what nature has made of him. Now some powerful personality gathered around himself a group of people for a common enterprise, and the memory of such a common undertaking formed a social group.
This form of social life was fully revealed only among the third subrace - the Toltecs. Therefore, people of this race for the first time laid the foundation for what can already be called a public and a kind of formation of the state. And the management and leadership of these communities passed from ancestors to descendants. What had previously lived in people’s memories, the father now began to transfer to his son. The entire family must remember the deeds of their ancestors. Descendants still continued to value what their ancestors accomplished.
It is only necessary to keep in mind that in those days people really had the power to transfer their talents to their descendants. All education was aimed at presenting life in visual images. And the effect of such education was based on the personal power emanating from the educator. He did not refine the power of reason, but other talents of a more instinctive nature. With such an education system, the father's abilities actually passed on to the son in most cases.
In the third sub-race, personal experience began to acquire more and more importance. When one group of people separated from another, when it founded a new community, it brought with it a living memory of what it had experienced under previous conditions. But at the same time, this memory also contained something that did not satisfy this community, which caused its discontent. And in this regard, she then tried to found something new. It is quite natural that the new and better evoked imitation, due to which communities flourished in the era of the third subrace.
The development of the power of memory led to the enormous power of the individual. Thanks to this power, man wanted to mean something. And the more the power of the people's leaders increased, the more he sought to use it for his own personal purposes. The developed ambition turned into pronounced self-indulgence. And with this came the abuse of power. If we remember what the Atlanteans could achieve thanks to their dominance over the life force, it will be easy to understand that this abuse must have had enormous consequences. Extensive power over nature could be used for personal selfish purposes.
This was carried out in full by the fourth subrace - the Proto-Turanians. People of this race, taught to dominate the designated forces, used them in every possible way to satisfy their selfish desires and aspirations. But when used in this way, these forces destroyed each other in their action. This is the same as if a person’s legs stubbornly pull him forward, while the upper part of his body strives backward. Such a destructive effect could only be delayed by the fact that a higher power began to develop in man. It was the ability to think. Logical thinking inhibits personal selfish desires.
We must look for the source of this logical thinking in the fifth subrace of the Atlanteans - the proto-Semites. People began to go beyond simply remembering the past and began to compare different experiences. The ability to judge developed, and desires and aspirations began to be regulated by it. The man began to count and count. He learned to work with his thoughts. If he had previously given himself over to his every desire, now he began to ask himself whether thought could also approve of this desire. If people of the fourth subrace violently rushed to satisfy their desires, then people of the fifth begin to listen to their inner voice. This inner voice brings desires into the shores, although it cannot destroy the requests of a selfish personality.
Thus, the fifth subrace transferred the impulses to action into the inner depths of man. A person wants to decide for himself in this depth of himself what to do and what not to do. But, gaining in his depth in the power of thinking, he begins to lose power over the external forces of nature to the same extent. With this thoughtful thinking, one can subjugate only the forces of the mineral world, but not the life force. So, the fifth subrace developed thinking through dominance over the life force. But it was precisely this that gave birth to the germ of the further development of mankind.
No matter how strongly the sense of personality, pride and even egoism now develop, thinking, working inside a person and unable to directly transmit its commands to nature, could no longer have such a destructive effect as the previous, abused forces. From this fifth sub-race, the initiates selected a group of the most gifted, who survived the death of the fourth root race; it formed the germ of the fifth, Aryan race, whose task is to fully reveal the thinking power and everything that relates to it.
People of the sixth subrace, the Akkadians, developed the power of thinking even further than the fifth. They differed from the so-called proto-Semites in that they began to use this ability in an even broader sense. If previous races tended to recognize as their leader the one whose exploits were engraved in their memory, or who could look back on a life rich in memories, now this role has passed to the intelligent. If previously they were guided by what was associated with good memories, now they valued most of all what was most convincing to thought. Previously, under the influence of memory, a certain custom was adhered to until it turned out to be insufficient, and it is self-evident in this case that the innovation was carried out by the one who could help the need.
Under the influence of the ability to think, a thirst for innovation and change developed. Everyone wanted to do what their mind told them to do. Therefore, in the era of the fifth subrace, unrest and anxiety begin, and in the sixth subrace they lead to a feeling of the need to bring the wayward thinking of individual people under general laws. The flourishing of the states of the third subrace was based on a community of memories that brought order and harmony. In the era of the sixth subrace, this system had to be implemented with the help of invented laws. Thus, the source of the legal and legal order is to be sought in this sixth sub-race.
In the era of the third subrace, the separation of a group of people occurred only when this group was, as it were, forced out of its community due to the fact that memories created unfavorable conditions for it. All this changed significantly in the sixth subrace. Reflective thinking sought the new, as such, and encouraged enterprises and new settlements. Therefore, the Akkadians were a very enterprising people and prone to colonization. In particular, trade was supposed to provide food for the emerging powers of thinking and judgment.
In the seventh subrace, the Mongols, the ability to think also developed. But some qualities of the former subraces, especially the fourth, were preserved in them to a much greater extent than in the fifth and sixth. They remained true to their penchant for reminiscing. And thus they came to the conviction that the most ancient is at the same time the most intelligent, that is, it can best defend itself before the power of thinking.
It is true that they also lost power over the vital forces, but the power of thought that developed in them itself possessed, to some extent, the natural power of this vital force. They lost their power over life, but they never lost their immediate, naive faith in it. This power was for them God, by whose authority they acted, doing everything that they considered right. Therefore, to neighboring peoples they seemed to be possessed by this secret power; and they themselves gave themselves to her with blind trust. Their descendants in Asia and in some European countries showed and still show this feature to a significant extent...
Transition of the fourth root race into the fifth
Everything around us is in development. And the peculiarity of man of our fifth root race, which consists in the use of thought, also first developed. It is in the fifth root race that the faculty of thinking slowly and gradually matures. The Atlanteans were just developing this ability. Their will was directed to some extent from the outside...
The Atlanteans were under the leadership of leaders who were far superior to them in their abilities. No earthly education could have developed in oneself this wisdom and the powers that these leaders possessed. They were communicated to them by higher beings who did not belong directly to the Earth. Therefore, it is quite natural that to the general mass of people these leaders seemed to be beings of a higher order, “messengers of the gods.” They were revered and their orders, commandments, and instructions were accepted. These kinds of creatures taught humanity sciences, arts and tool making.
These “messengers of the gods” either governed communities themselves, or taught the art of government to those people who were sufficiently developed for this. It was said about these leaders that they “communicated with God,” and that the gods themselves initiated them into the laws according to which humanity should develop. And this was true. This initiation, this communication with the gods took place in places called mystery temples. From them, therefore, came the control of the human race.
The language in which the gods spoke in the mysteries with their messengers was not an earthly language, and the images in which these gods were revealed to them were just as little earthly. The messengers could receive such revelations because they had already gone through at previous stages of development what most people still have to go through. They only in some respects belonged to this humanity and could still take on human form. But their mental and spiritual qualities were superhuman. Therefore, they could be called higher spirits, embodied in human bodies in order to move humanity further on its earthly path.
These beings led people, without, however, being able to communicate to them the laws by which they led them. Since before the fifth Atlantean subrace, before the proto-Semites, people still completely lacked the ability to understand these laws. Only the power of thinking developed in this subrace was such an ability. But it developed slowly and gradually. And even the last subraces of the Atlanteans still had very little understanding of the laws of their divine leaders.
The leaders of the fifth Atlantean subrace gradually prepared it so that later, after the disappearance of the Atlantean way of life, it could lay the foundation for a new generation of people that would be controlled entirely by the power of thinking. One of the main leaders of the Atlanteans, who bore the name Manu, chose the most gifted and secluded them in a special place - in Central Asia, thereby freeing those who lagged behind or deviated from the path from any influence.
The leader set himself the task of developing this group so much that those belonging to it could, in their own souls, by the power of their own thinking, comprehend the laws by which they had hitherto been governed, to know those divine powers that they unconsciously followed. Until now, the gods have led people through their messengers; now people had to know about these divine beings. They had to learn to look upon themselves as the executive instruments of divine Providence.
These people heard about the super-terrestrial-divine, and that the invisible spiritual is the creator and preserver of the visible physical. Hitherto they had looked up to their visible messengers of the gods, to their superhuman initiates, and from them received instructions what to do and what not to do. But now they were honored that the messenger of the gods spoke to them about the gods themselves. Now they needed to build their lives in the spirit of a new understanding of divine world governance, i.e. finding the relationship between visible phenomena and invisible forces. The fifth root race had to learn to govern itself with the help of its thoughts. But such self-determination can lead to good only if the person himself puts himself in the service of higher powers.
The most gifted individuals around Manu were destined to gradually receive direct initiation into his divine wisdom, so that they could become teachers of other people. It so happened that the former messengers of the gods were now joined by a new type of initiates who developed their power of thinking in the same way as all other people - in an earthly way. This was not the case with the previous messengers of the gods; their development belongs to the higher worlds (what they gave to humanity was a “gift from above”).
The isolated group lived and developed until it became strong enough to act in a new spirit, and until its members were able to carry this new spirit to that part of humanity that remained after the previous races. Naturally, this new spirit took on a different character among different peoples, depending on their own development in different fields. The previously preserved character traits were mixed with those brought to various parts of the world by the envoys of Manu. Thus a variety of new cultures and civilizations arose.
Human initiates, holy teachers, became at the beginning of the fifth race the leaders of the rest of humanity. To the host of these initiates belong the great priest-kings of ancient times, to whom not history, but the world of legends testifies. The highest messengers of the gods retreated more and more from the earth, leaving control to these human initiates, whom they, however, helped with advice and deeds.
If this were not so, man would never achieve free use of his power of thinking. The world is under divine guidance; but a person should not be forced to admit this, he must see and comprehend it through free reflection. Only when he has achieved this do the initiates gradually reveal their secrets to him. But this cannot happen suddenly. The entire development of the fifth root race is a slow path leading to this goal...
Human evolution on the planet. Races, subraces.
On each sphere, in each circle, all kingdoms must make seven small circles, after which they will move to another sphere. Small circles are otherwise called root races or simply races. We are now on sphere D in the fourth circle and are overwhelmingly representatives of the fifth race.
In turn, each race consists of seven sub-races (sub-races), each sub-race consists of seven branches, which in turn have their own seven divisions, etc.
A failed creation.
Before the human kingdom moved to sphere D, the spontaneous origin of life took place on it, without the participation of higher intelligent forces. The generated life forms could not evolve and were therefore useless for the purposes of Nature. Here is what is said about this in the book of Dzian:
“...she (the earth) did not call the sons of heaven, she did not want to call the sons of wisdom. She created from her womb. She developed water-people, terrible and evil. She herself created water-people, terrible and evil, from the remains of others. From the refuse, from the silt of her first, second and third, she formed them. Dhyani (sons of wisdom) came and observed - Dhyani from the bright father-mother; from the white regions they came, from the abodes of immortal mortals. They were dissatisfied. They destroyed forms, two-faced and four-faced. they slew the goat-men, and the dog-headed men, and the fish-bodied men.”

“Thus it is shown that Physical Nature, left to itself in the creation of animal and man, was unsuccessful. It can produce the first two kingdoms, as well as the kingdom of the lower animals, but when the turn of man comes, to create it, in addition to the “skin membranes” and “breath of animal life,” spiritual, independent and rational forces are required.”
First race- Chhaya (shadows).
Thus nature, left to itself, failed. When the turn came for the incarnation of the human kingdom on sphere D, those monads that remained on it during its obscuration, as guardians of the “seed of humanity”, after the life wave of the third circle, were the source of the emergence of the primary human etheric form. These guardians are known in esoteric doctrine as Pitris - barhishads.

“The First Race of Men, therefore, were merely the resemblances, the Astral Doubles of their Fathers, who were the pioneers or most advanced Entities from the previous, though lower, Sphere, of which our Moon is now the shell.”
In general, the word “Pitri” means ancestors, and they are divided into two types: Barkhishads - those who do not have higher intelligence, and Agnishvattas - who have it. Primary forms are created only by Barkhishads, but these forms are still very imperfect and are not ready to be carriers of the mind, so time is needed for their development. The activities of the Agnishvattas will occur later and they will perfect the human forms. Otherwise, the Agnishvattas are called solar gods, and the Barkhishads are called lunar gods.

“The Agnishwatta Pitris are devoid of “Fire”, that is, creative passion, for they are too divine and pure, while the Barkhishads, being Moon Gods, are more closely associated with the Earth … Thus it becomes clear why the Agnishvatta, deprived of the grosser "creative fire", and therefore unable to create a physical man, also without a Double or Astral Body to manifest it, for they were without any "form", are shown in exoteric allegories like Yogis, Kumaras [immaculate Youths]<…>Nevertheless, only they could complete man, that is, make him a self-conscious, almost divine Being - God on Earth. The Barkhishads, although they possessed “creative fire,” were deprived of the higher element of Mahat. Being on a level with the lower “Principles” - those that precede gross objective matter - they could give birth only to the external man, or rather to the prototype of the physical, the astral man.”
Now let's go back to the first race. She did not have a physical body. Being in her very subtle etheric body, she knew neither birth nor death. “People” of the first race could equally live both in water and underground, material objects were not an obstacle, and the external climatic conditions of that period did not have any impact on them.

“The First Race, the “Shadows” of the Progenitors, could not be damaged or destroyed by death. Being so ethereal and so little human in their structure, they could not be damaged by any element - neither water nor fire.”
“The First Race was simply composed of the Astral Shadows of the Ancestors-Creators and, of course, had neither its own astral nor its own physical bodies - then this Race did not die. Her “People” gradually dissolved and were absorbed by the bodies of their own “Later-born” Progeny, more dense than their own. The Old Form evaporated, it was absorbed and disappeared into a New Form, more human and physical. Death did not exist in that era, more blissful than the Golden Age; but the primary or parental matter was employed in the creation of a new being, in the construction of the Body, and even of the internal or lower Principles or Bodies of the offspring.”
Second race- Then born.
The second race arose from the first by “budding”.

“How else could these Chhayas reproduce themselves; that is, to give birth to the Second Race, if they were ethereal, a-sexual, and even lacking for the time being the bearer of desires or Kama Rupa, which developed only in the Third Race? They developed the Second Race unconsciously, as some plants do. Or perhaps like an amoeba, only on a more ethereal, significant and larger scale.”
So the second race arose from the first race. Its structure was improved and despite the fact that it was still ethereal, the concept of death and birth appeared. The forms of the second race became denser and became subject to environmental conditions. The birth took place in the manner described below.

“The Astral Form which clothed the Monad was surrounded, as now, by an ovoid sphere of the Aura, which here corresponds to the substance of the germ cell or Ovum. The Astral form itself is now, as then, a nucleus endowed with the Principle of Life.
When the time comes for reproduction, the Sub-Astral “pushes out” its miniature likeness from the egg of the surrounding Aura. This embryo grows and is nourished by Aura until its development is completed, then it gradually separates from its parent, taking with it its own sphere of Aura; just as we see it in living cells that reproduce their own kind by growth and successive division into two.”
This process is similar to the secretion of sweat on the skin. The drop grows, and when it becomes large enough, it separates. Therefore, the “people” of the second race are called “then born.” Since their bodies were mortal and exposed to environmental conditions, they died as a result of a catastrophe.

Then-born... “became the Second Humanity - composed of a wide variety of gigantic half-human monsters - the first attempts of material nature in the construction of human bodies. The ever-blooming countries (Greenland among others) of the Second Continent were successively transformed from Edens, with their eternal spring, into Hyperborean Hades. This transformation occurred as a result of the displacement of the great waters of the Planet, the oceans, which changed their channels; the majority of the Second Race perished in this first spasm of evolution and solidification of the Planet during the human period.”
Third race- born from an egg (Lemurians).
The method of reproduction of “people” of the third race was similar to the method of reproduction of the second, but if in the second race the embryo, pushed out of the aura of the parent, could already lead an independent life, then in the third race it was somewhat different. The embryo had to remain in its shell for some time, which became denser over time. This shell was shaped like an egg, in which the process of ripening of the fruit took place, like chicks in birds in our time. Therefore, the “people” of the third race are called “born from an egg.”
The original two races had no gender; the separation of the sexes, initially asexual (androgynous) and then bisexual (hermaphrodite), occurred only in the third race. In the same race, humanity acquired a physical body and was gifted with intelligence.

“The First Race created the Second through “budding”, as stated above, the Second Race gave birth to the Third - which itself divided into three specific divisions, consisting of people born differently. The first two divisions reproduced by an ovoid method, probably unknown to modern natural history. Whereas the early sub-races of the Third Humanity multiplied by means of a kind of secretion of moisture or vital fluid, the drops of which, collecting, formed an egg-shaped ball - or say an egg, which served as an external container for the generation of a fetus and a child within it; the method of reproduction of the following sub-races has changed, at least in its results. The offspring of the early sub-races were completely asexual - even formless, as far as we can know, but the offspring of subsequent sub-races were born androgynous. It was in the Third Race that the separation of the sexes took place. In the middle of the third race, nature built a physical form around the etheric form of man, this happened 18 million years ago. From this moment the physical existence of man on our planet begins.

The Lemurians built cities and knew how to speak, but their speech was very primitive.

What might now be called supernatural phenomena were quite common occurrences for the Lemurians. They naturally had various abilities and could produce various phenomena, they were surrounded by “miracles,” but over time, increasingly developing their mental principle (Manas) and becoming more intellectual, they gradually lost these abilities.

After a long period of prosperity, the civilization of Lemuria began to decline. The ever-increasing intellect eclipsed spirituality and this race, originally very spiritual, began to strive for evil, which was the reason for its decline and destruction.
The completion of one race and the beginning of the next is always accompanied by cataclysms that destroy some continents and raise others from the bottom of the ocean, on which a new race is born. Lemuria died about 700 thousand years before the beginning of what is now called the Tertiary period (Eocene).

The map of the world during this period was completely different than at the present time; there was no America, no Africa, no Europe; these continents appeared much later. The Atlanteans were taller than us. However, their growth decreased with each subsequent sub-race and in their last sub-races was about 3 meters.
Like any civilization, the Atlanteans also had their heyday. Their development reached its apogee in the middle of the fourth sub-race. They, like the third race, had their own divine mentors who taught them in the sciences and arts, and transmitted to them divine knowledge. The Turans - should all Turkic peoples be classified as them? - but according to L.N. Gumilev they arose already in the 1st millennium BC.

Then our 5th Race: Proto-Slavs, ancestors of Europeans (Boreals) and other descendants of the Aryans- the actual modern inhabitants of India, although they are a conglomerate of tribes that had different shares of Aryan blood and the blood of the indigenous tribes of India, as a rule the Helicts of the 3rd Lemurian race, blacks, as a rule.

The Atlanteans died, but their descendants remained in America TOLTECs and the indigenous peoples there who descended from them - and the heirs of their cult and culture, distant for several tens of thousands of years - the Incas and Aztecs. We have already considered that the best representatives of the Atlanteans migrated to the Eurasian mainland earlier, long before the death of Atlantis, founded the state of Egypt there, and passed on their high Culture to it. Agni Yoga speaks more than once about Atlantis, in particular, that this Lesson should be understood by humanity, and not repeated. Firstly, that human concentrations (large cities) are dangerous in themselves - the effect of a crowd is never positive, it is always a miasma of low passions that crush, fetter with herd instinct, suppress all bright shoots:
“Of course, they will ask: “Why in ancient times there was no danger of human gatherings?” Firstly, the population itself was relatively small. But this warning from Helena Roerich is addressed directly to us, today!.. She remembered her incarnations in Atlantis, just like one of my friends, a magician even now, who was a priest there, and later a high priest in Babylon. He claims that the black magic of the Atlanteans, in the sense of its malicious spread in society, is “kindergarten compared to what we have now...” Agni Yoga confirms this:
“Unfortunately, the present time completely corresponds to the last time of Atlantis. The same false prophets, the same false savior, the same wars, the same betrayals and spiritual savagery. Atlantis by Merry Hope
“I came to the conclusion that Atlantis was not just a huge territory between America and the west coast of Africa, but also the cradle of all mankind!”

We find a more detailed description of the beliefs, life and culture of the Atlanteans in Mary Hope /see in the 1st chapter link /4/, a famous clairvoyant writer with an elegant pseudonym, which translated means Joyful Hope. Merry Hope relies not only on the information of clairvoyants (Edgar Cayce and her own), but also on the scientific data of atlantologists.
It is quite clear that Mary Hope did not read Blavatsky, so we can consider that we have another independent source. She gives completely different maps of Atlantis and Lemuria (which she simply calls Mu in support of my hypothesis stated above). But there are great contradictions with H.P.B. is not visible, since Merry Hope considers the antiquity of these continents in thousands of years, and not in millions. And in these later eras, the world map was really not very different from the present one. The island of Atlantis at the last stage could well have had such a small size, located across the Atlantic from Gibraltar to the Caribbean Sea - as the author draws it.
It is significant that M. Hope, like H.P.B., sees the Atlanteans and their Ancestor Gods as fair-skinned, blue-eyed, blond, and she herself confirms this with a quote from ancient Egyptian texts:
“The fact that they were blond and blue-eyed can be evidenced by the fact that over the following years the “Eye of Horus” constantly appeared in amulets like blue eyes, and the Book of the Dead says: “And Horus with blue eyes will appear to you.”
The time of the arrival of the main forces of the Atlanteans in Egypt, led by their God-Leaders, according to Merry Hope, also coincides with the dating of V. Shcherbakov and E.P.B. (only for her - this is the very last “landing” of the Atlanteans just before the last flood) - about 12.5 thousand years ago:
“Isis and Osiris (Auset and Ausar, as pronounced by the ancient Egyptians), according to legend, set foot on Egyptian soil 12,452 years ago. The Ammonites (an Egyptian people who consider themselves direct descendants of the pharaohs and have preserved their ancient religion and customs to this day) base their calendar on this date.”
She further translates this as 10,452 BC. - which quite accurately corresponds to the date of the sinking of Atlantis according to Solon and Plato (as well as according to V. Shcherbakov). M. Hope believes that this was the year of colonization of Egypt by the Atlanteans, their main forces. Based on the “similarities between Mayan and ancient Egyptian works of art, culture and science,” M. Hope derives the thesis about the clear commonality of their cultures through Atlantis as a metropolis.
Interesting scientific data on the drift of the North Pole from the book by M. Hope /according to Hapgood/ were given above /see. Fig.3/.
Considering Robert Mooney’s data that in Antarctica the last glaciation began to manifest itself seriously only 5-7 thousand years ago, we begin to understand why the northern peoples of Eurasia still have legends about “Belovodye” and the Sacred Land in the Arctic Ocean. The pole shift (in Fig. 3) also allows us to think that it did not occupy its last position immediately, but gradually, precisely 5-7 thousand years ago. At the same time, I would make a clarification: according to our data obtained in Karelia, the shift from point 1 to point 2 occurred no earlier than 30 thousand years ago (the beginning of the strongest glaciation in the last period of glaciation in the Russian North, when the pole moved close to the Kola Peninsula) and ended with its shift to point 3, to Hudson Bay only during the last major flood and the flooding of the entire remaining Atlantis (the island of Ruta-Poseidonis, which almost plugged Gibraltar). This was about 11-12 thousand years ago. At the same time, the glaciation of Antarctica began. Everything fits together.
M. Hope cites data from unnamed atlantologists, according to which the area of Atlantis (before the last catastrophe) was 1,553,994 sq. km - they determined this from the topography of the ocean floor. This is similar to Plato's data on the sum of the areas of "Libya and Asia".
Mary Hope gleaned very interesting information from the clairvoyant information of Edgar Cayce. It confirms that the picture of the world, the outlines of the continents, and the north-south polarity were completely different. True, E. Case did not indicate the time, how long ago it was:
“The Nile flowed into the Atlantic Ocean. What we call the Sahara was an inhabited and very fertile land... The Ural Mountains and the northern regions (apparently of Asia - O.S.) were the tropics..."
This confirms the key phrase of the HPB, mentioned more than once above, that Europe “spread apart like an accordion” - the Mediterranean Sea was much shorter from west to east, in fact, in quite ancient times (millions of years ago) it was just a bay, the floodplain of the Nile. Even (according to HPB) one of the mountains of the Atlas ridge (the Atlantic coast, present-day Morocco) was called the Nile... This means that the Nile River flowed into the sea somewhere nearby! How reminiscent of Tolkien's map this is...see the chapter on it below.
Then it is clear why the Atlanteans built their main colony in Egypt - it was not yet the “far end” of the Mediterranean. Moreover, H.P.B. immediately notes that the surrounding area (to the east) of the Nile Mountains was a constant site of devastating battles between neighboring tribes, as a result of which they destroyed the Sahara:
“...thus turning the most fertile of lands into a barren desert.”
M.Hope's other visionary information speaks volumes about weaker gravity in those distant times (again without exact dates). THE SEVEN ROOT RACES OF HUMANITY- in theosophy - version of the origin of modern humanityva. Based on the esoteric teaching about the hierarchy of bodies (or planes) human: physical body, etheric body, astral body, mental body (lower mind, the buddhic body (abstract mind), the spiritual mind body and the causal body. It is assumed that intelligent life on Earth was created purposefully by a whole complex of higher forces, for which there are no words in human languages. In subsequent subraces, their growth gradually decreased. Proof of this, according to Theosophy, should be the fossil bones of giants and myths about giants. The first people did not yet have a complete set of bodies: they did not have a conscious soul, i.e. bodies of spiritual mind. The higher primates (monkeys) originated from these human animals. The last subraces of the Third Race created the first intelligent civilization of people on the proto-continent of Lemuria, according to other versions - Gondwana. This continent was located in the Southern Hemisphere and included the southern tip of Africa, Australia and New Zealand, and in the north - Madagascar and Ceylon. Easter Island also belonged to the Lemurian culture. During the period of the seventh subrace of the Third Race, the Lemurian civilization fell into decay, and this continent itself went under water. The Atlanteans were the offspring of the Lemurians, who moved to another continent about a million years before the death of Lemuria. The first two subraces of the Atlantean race descended from these first settlers from Lemuria. The third subrace of the Atlantean race appeared after the destruction of Lemuria or Gondwana: these were the Toltecs, the Red Race. According to theosophy, the Atlanteans worshiped the Sun, and their height reached two and a half meters. The capital of the Atlantean Empire was the city of the Hundred Golden Gates. Their civilization reached the pinnacle of its development precisely during the period of the Toltecs or the Red Race. This was about 1 million years ago.
