To make a 3D animated flag, download the Flagimation program and install it on your computer. This utility has an intuitive interface on English. For convenience, you can install its Russified version. Prepare the image you want to turn into an animated flag.

Open the prepared image using the command “File” - “Open” (File - Open). Please note that your image must be in a format supported by the Flagimation program: jpg, bmp or gif.

After you have opened the image, you will see the resulting animated flag in the program window. If you wish, you can select the desired animation quality and speed parameters. For example, in the “Flag” tab you can set the amplitude (Amplitude), frequency (Frequency) and angle (Angle) of the “waves” on the flag. Move the sliders to select required values these parameters for a waving flag.

In the same tab at the bottom there is an option “Radial waves”. By checking the box next to this item, you will allow the flag to flutter in a non-standard way - the “waves” will emanate from the center.

In the “Bump” tab, similarly set the intensity (Intensity) and frequency (Frequency) of the oscillations of the “waves” of the 3-dimensional flag.

The Brightness and Contrast parameters of animated waves can be set in the Light tab.

The Flagimation program also provides a function for adjusting color “depth” - from 8 colors (3 bits) to standard 256 (8 bits). Thanks to this, you can choose the best option and reduce the size of the animated file. This option is in the GIF tab.

It is possible to place a waving flag on either a transparent or colored background. This can be done in the settings of the “Background” tab. To make the background transparent, check the box next to the Transparent option. To set a colored background, move the mouse cursor to the color you like on the palette and click on it.

If you wish, you can place a caption and insert an image on the animated flag. To create an inscription, in the program menu “Edit” (Edit), select “Text...” (Text...).

Enter your text in the text field, and then edit it. The capabilities of the Flagimation program for working with text inscriptions are impressive: you can not only select the font, its color and size, align the inscription vertically and horizontally, but also rotate it at the desired angle, and also add a shadow effect, bringing it closer or farther from it as desired. text.

Let's start with the fact that the most common aspect ratio of the flag is 2:3. Therefore, let's create a new image in paint.net with a size of 600x400.

We will make a tricolor flag. Therefore, let's create a new layer and divide it into three parts using the paint.net plugin to draw lines and stripes. Draw lines in the color that will be used for middle zone. The topmost line at the top of the drawing can be removed.

So what do we have? First we need to find a picture to work on. In my case, and in accordance with the topic, I need a picture of the flag! Where can I get it? - just search the bottomless Internet, there are enough resources there to satisfy even the most “picky eye”;) Or we just draw ourselves!

Now you need to go to the gradient editor using the icon on the toolbar and set up the following gradient

Now let's do the following: Create a new layer using the keyboard shortcut Cntr+Shift+N, or through the menu. Now go to the layer where you have the original image. Select it along the outline and return to a new layer. Fill the selected area horizontally. Your gradient should cover only the part where the original image is located. Otherwise we will not get the desired result.
