Seasons in Australia - a big move to a small continent

Before moving to Australia, I thought it was always hot here, but this turned out to be only partly true. The closer to the equator is a city, state or region of the continent, the hotter it is during the year and the difference in weather in different seasons is insignificant. But in Sydney the situation is completely different and what was my surprise when jackets, hats and warm pants that appeared on store windows in February found their practical application in June!
To begin with, Australia is located in the southern hemisphere and the seasons are reversed here. If earlier I loved winter, because I have a birthday in winter, now I don’t like winter, because my birthday is in summer???????????? There is no central heating in Sydney, so the change of seasons is especially noticeable at home and certainly at night)
And now about the seasons in Sydney)
September to November-Australian spring, which is accompanied by jacaranda blossoms, a significant increase in people on the beaches, who are gradually beginning to take off their down jackets, remaining on the street only in T-shirts and shorts, and of course in flip flops, which are a year-round fashion trend in Australia! The temperature during the day is different, on average 24-25, and +15 at night
December to February- Australian summer. The temperature can rise to 45 degrees, but in 2 summers spent in Sydney, this happened 3 times, and I didn’t even feel that it was so hot. At night, the temperature can be about 25-30 degrees, and even when it is very hot, not the most pleasant living creatures in the form of huge cockroaches can make their way into the house - feel sorry for them and let them into the house under the air conditioner or kill them with a mortain - it's up to you)))
March to May- golden Australian autumn) The trees are slowly becoming bare, but not palm trees - they are like Christmas trees - in winter and summer in one color. Until the end of April last year I swam! The temperature is very comfortable, +25 on average, and only at night and in the mornings it’s already fresh and you want to sleep in warm socks) Closer to mid-May, you already want to put on a jacket and sometimes put on gloves in the evening. People in hats, shorts and slates appear on the streets, and the most courageous and fashionable ones also mix slates with down jackets. It gets cold and uncomfortable at home, especially at night and in the evening..that's where ugg boots are worn in Australia, so it's at home - from the end of May to the beginning of September????

June to end of August- Australian winter. Last my first winter, I left Australia for the Russian summer at the end of June and arrived in mid-August. In June, we already slept at home with heaters, walked in socks and warm pants, sweaters and jackets - this is me about the evening appearance of the house. During the day, the air can warm up to 20-25, but at night it can practically drop to zero (imagine what kind of house, when it’s zero outside the window, and no one seals the window for the winter ????????????? ???????
But you can go to the mountains and enjoy all the available winter sports and allow your child to eat snow and nibble icicles with a clear conscience .. after all, once a year is it possible?)

As for the rains, I can’t even say when there are more of them) it seems to me that there are enough of them throughout the calendar year .. therefore, an umbrella, slates and a down jacket should definitely find a place in your suitcase when you are going on a trip to Australia))
