The most terrible female killers

When talking about killer maniacs, people usually think of men. We least of all associate the image of a maniac with the image of a woman. Forensic science knows many examples bloody killers– women who are not inferior to strong men in cruelty.

More than half of all those killed were relatives or close friends of the “widow.” The woman did not work; she lived off the insurance that she received after the death of her relatives. She killed her husband, children and several potential suitors. Her death is not known for certain. The decapitated and charred body of a woman who could be Belle Sorenson Gunness did not give a hundred percent guarantee that this was the Black Widow.

Sister of Mercy Jane Toppan

Nurse Jane Toppan attacked infirm patients. It is known that her father was crazy, so Jane was raised in orphanage. The girl was adopted, but the adoptive parents turned out to be poor, which is why the future killer’s anger towards others only intensified. At first, nurse Toppan administered drugs to her patients, observing their state between life and death. From this she received intense sexual pleasure.

Later, the woman transformed her experiments into murders. After her arrest, the police were able to prove eleven murders. While under arrest, the nurse confessed to thirty-one more murders. The examination proved that Jane was insane. She spent the rest of her life in a psychiatric clinic.

As a child, he experienced several classic signs of a future maniac. His father was an alcoholic who beat his entire family and was also raped. At the age of 26 he was sent to prison. For raping a boy, he served a year and a half instead of 10. He was released for good behavior, which they later regretted long time. Sitting behind bars, he thought new image, bought a clown costume and began to approach his victims much faster and easier.

After his first arrest, in the eyes of the public, he behaved absolutely normal life. Became a restaurant manager fast food, married twice. For a long time, the people around him could not believe that he was the killer clown, since he was distinguished by his hard work and ability to communicate. They say he worked 12 hours or more. As was later proven by representatives of law enforcement agencies, he stayed in service for so long precisely because of his love for teenagers. He constantly forced them to have sexual contact, but the victims were mostly silent.

Sergey Tkach

He lived to be 65 years old and killed more than 37 women, as well as minor girls. He was called the Polog maniac. He was a rapist and pedophile. The court sentenced him to 4 life sentences. After his capture, he wrote reports for 107 more victims. He was convicted in the Dnepropetrovsk region, served his sentence in the Zhitomir prison in Ukraine, and acted mainly in Crimea. Died in 2005.

He strangled and drowned his victims for sexual reasons. He worked as an investigator in law enforcement agencies, which is probably why he covered his tracks so well. Served in Soviet Army, received the specialty of surveyor technician, after which he was recommended to work in the police. He was fired for official falsification, which they were able to prove. It was after this that he began to kill.

He was interested in girls and girls from 9 to 17 years old. He tracked them in forest plantations near the highway and railway. He chose this method of murder so that law enforcement agencies would think about someone visiting. He left no traces on the bodies of the victims. When raping, he constantly used condoms, trampled on traces, undressed his victims, removing their clothes and shoes, and then burned it all, removing all the cigarette butts and scraps. After crime committed I tried to escape along the sleepers. So it was very difficult for the service dog to pick up his scent.

While investigating the murders committed by Tkach, main problem there was a statute of limitations. The fact is that some of them were committed several decades ago and no evidence remains.

Jeffrey Dahmer

He was 34 years old when he was killed by fellow inmates through severe head trauma. Law enforcement They gave him the nickname Milwaukee Monster or Cannibal. The victims were men and young men whom he raped, killed, and then ate. IN total there were 17 of them.

Dahmer's childhood was absolutely normal until his parents noticed his habit of collecting animal corpses. He placed them in a jar of formaldehyde and stored them. It has been proven that he committed murder for the first time at the age of 18. First he stunned his victim with dumbbells, then he strangled him and cut him into pieces.

What prompted this maniac to kill is still not known for certain. They say he was abused by a neighbor at the age of 8. But the killer himself denied this. He took the formaldehyde in which the killed animals were rolled up from his father. His dreams in early age there was gay sex, dismemberment of corpses and necrophilia.

After graduating from school, he received an education, got married, worked and served in the army. After his second victim, he could no longer stop. He was caught after another young man managed to get out and called the police. His cannibalism and cannibalism were conclusively proven during the search. Body parts were found in the refrigerator, and men's torsos were found in a barrel of acid.

Andrey Chikatilo

They nicknamed him, the Red Ripper was born in Ukraine, he was executed in Rostov region in Russia at the age of 57 years. In total, he killed 53 victims, 10 of which were unprovable. Perversion and violence became his business card. He killed for sexual reasons, since he achieved orgasm only during the death of the victim. He was distinguished by cannibalism and cannibalism.

In his life he worked, studied, got married, had children, friends, and killed in between. He was active for 12 years. The victims of the killer maniac were 14 girls, 18 women and twenty-one boys.

When considering what prompted this man to kill, it is worth noting his childhood. It has been scientifically proven that he was born with signs of hydrocephalus and suffered from urinary incontinence. Also, his mother constantly beat him. The relationship with her can be called a separate story. When the Holodomor began in Ukraine, his older brother Stepan disappeared without a trace. His mother said that he was kidnapped and eaten. But, in fact, it is not known whether this brother existed at all. After Chikatilo's capture, scientists began to understand the history of his family, and they did not find any Stepan. By the way, beating the mother is also unprovable. Some criminologists are of the opinion that the killer made it all up in order to justify himself and that his parents were actually worthy members of society who worked hard. But any accurate information no about that.

Chikatilo worked as a teacher and educator. He constantly noted his genius and the hostility of the world around him. His first victim was a nine-year-old girl, whom he took life in a house he bought in secret from her family. Her body was found nearby in a pond. The cause of death was 3 penetrating stab wounds to the abdomen and mechanical asphyxia. On the body, traces of rupture of the vagina and rectum were found following anal and vaginal intercourse. Chikatilo lured the girl into the house with promises of chewing gum.

This was followed by a break of three years, after which a series of murders began. He met his victims on buses, at train stations, then lured them into a forest, park or other secluded place under the plausible pretext of allegedly showing them a shortcut or carrying a heavy bag. There, attack them with a knife. 60 stab wounds were found on one body. Some had their eyes gouged out, their tongues and genitals bitten off.

His first arrest was made in 1984. He attracted the attention of the local police officer with his abnormal behavior. By that time, 7 corpses of his victims had already been found in the region. During his arrest, his blood was taken, which turned out to be type II. The last victim's sperm was 4. This provided his alibi, thanks to which he was released. Ultimately, it turned out that this person had a thematic paradoxical feature organism, or criminologists simply did the wrong analysis. Upon release, he killed 21 more people.

Caught him thanks psychological portrait killer, which was first compiled in the territory Soviet Union. His last victim was a 22-year-old prostitute who was killed in the forest. The sergeant, who saw him coming out of the forest belt, asked to show his documents, since Chikatilo, dressed in a suit and tie, did not at all look like a mushroom picker. A few days later, after not far from this railway station The body of the second victim was discovered, the policeman remembered the suspicious person. The investigation led to Chikatilo's arrest in 1990.

Pedro Alonso Lopez

It was this “guardian,” according to unverified data, who became the first victim of the maniac. Pedro killed him at the age of 18, and before that he raped him. A gang of friends helped him with this.

Law enforcement caught him and imprisoned him for 8 years. After he was released from prison, he moved to Peru, where the bloody series began. It took a very long time to catch him, since in most countries Latin America the police have no influence. According to unverified reports, his atrocities were discovered by a Peruvian drug boss. It was in connection with this that Pedro moved to Ecuador, where he continued the murders.

Harold Shipman

Doctor Death lived and killed near Manchester in England. 15 victims have been proven for certain. How many there were is now unknown, but they say that there were at least 250. He was arrested in 1998. Then he was sent to prison, where he died in 2004, having lived to be 57 years old.

He was a psychopath with a high IQ who always stood out compared to other people. He killed using lethal injections for selfish reasons. His first victim was elderly woman, who called him as a doctor and complained of joint pain. The doctor injected her with morphine into her vein, the dose of which led to death. After that, Harold took the souvenir from the table and left the house with impunity. The death was ruled natural.

Most often, he killed elderly pensioners and constantly took something for himself as a souvenir. After he began to forge the wills of the dead, he began to make a good profit. It was proven that Shipman even killed relatives of his acquaintances and subordinates, for example, his secretary. According to the killer himself, told to his cellmate, he killed 508 people in the region.

The most brutal female killer - Black Widow or Belle Sorenson Gunness

She personally or with the help of other people killed 40 people in the area. Mostly these were relatives or close friends. After their death, she received excellent insurance, on which she lived.

It is proven that she killed her husband, children and several suitors. How she died is unknown. It is believed that her body was found decapitated and mutilated, but it has not been proven whether it was her.

Jane Toppan is responsible for the deaths of 31 people. She was tried in 1901 for a crime committed over decades. The court declared her insane and sent her to a psychiatric clinic. The motive for the actions was the desire to kill as many helpless people as possible. She worked as a nurse and used her future victims as guinea pigs. She experimented with atropine and morphine, observing changes in the nervous system.

The most mysterious maniacs in the world

In this TOP it is necessary to highlight separate place homicidal maniacs who were never caught by law enforcement agencies.

For starters, this is, of course, Jack the Ripper

It operated in the second half of the 19th century. Who he was, why he killed and when he died, no one knows to this day. His victims were exclusively prostitutes. What they annoyed him with remains a mystery, shrouded in darkness. The number of specifically identified victims is at least 5. The method of murder varied from time to time. In most cases, he cut the women's throats, but he could also choke them.

At the time of its rampant England was just experiencing an influx of Irish emigrants. Major cities were not only overpopulated, but also the number of their inhabitants increased every day. Many women who did not have the opportunity to get a job became prostitutes. After the city authorities began to interfere in their activities, they noticed that some of the girls were disappearing without a trace.

The first body found was Mary Ann Nichols, nicknamed Polly. The last recorded and most famous was Mary Jane Kelly. She was different from the other victims in that she was the youngest. With her craft, she earned decent money, with which she could rent a room where she was killed. Many modern researchers note that most likely the girls were strangled before their throats were cut. WITH psychological point It is worth noting that this method of killing is personal. That is, the killer either knew the victim well, or he identified her with someone he could not reach.

Some criminologists think that Jack the Ripper's mother was also a prostitute and that he may have been abused by her clients as a child. The killer cut the throat strictly from left to right, leaving a deep wound. The scary thing is that after the woman died, he opened her up. He carried away some organs, while others he put on public display.

The investigation lasted for a very long time, but never yielded any results. The killer wrote letters to the police, bullying them (some experts believe that these were forgeries, written by a mentally ill person who wanted to take away the glory of the original). It is noted that the Ripper could have been a highly qualified surgeon, and it has also been reliably proven that he was left-handed.

The second of the bloodiest, but never caught, killers is the Zodiac

He lived in America, and acted in the middle of the last century in Northern California and San Francisco. He called himself the Zodiac in letters that, like Jack the Ripper, he sent to the police.

According to unverified data, the number of victims fluctuates around 37. The interesting thing is that he may be alive to this day. Therefore, the investigation into his case has not yet stopped. Modern criminologists and profilers note that this person is undeniably a psychopath, but very smart, almost a genius. Most likely, his life skills and high IQ helped him avoid punishment from the police, even though he sent encrypted cryptograms with information about himself to local newspapers 4 times. By the way, the information encrypted in them has not been fully disclosed.

Law enforcement agencies have confirmed that 5 victims were killed and two were wounded. Their ages ranged from 16 to 39 years. Zodiac killed with an unregistered pistol. His victims were mostly in cars. The investigation into the case was discontinued in 2004, but resumed in 2007. Professionals do not lose hope of finding him and finally punishing him.

The term “serial killer” appeared in 1976 in order to describe as correctly and in detail as possible the personality and course of action of the American maniac, necrophiliac and kidnapper Ted Bundy. The investigation into the February maniac case came to a standstill in 2011, and he himself still appears in police files as John Doe. This is his conventional name.

This cruel and mysterious serial killer maniac operated in the United States and San Francisco in the late 60s. All his messages addressed to the police contained encrypted cryptograms, thanks to which the Zodiac received his nickname. However, during the entire investigation, the cryptographers were able to read only one of his “bloody” letters.

According to experts, this attitude of serial killers towards people is due to mental abnormalities, which can be congenital or acquired as a result of bullying from others. The most terrible maniacs in the history of mankind have ruined many lives and yet do not feel any regrets because of their brutal actions.

Pedro Lopez brutally murdered nearly 300 people, making him the world's worst serial killer. For such horrific acts, he was included in the Guinness Book of Records as the bloodiest maniac.

Pedro was born in the Colombian city of Tolmi in the family of a prostitute who did not devote time to raising her children. When the boy was 8 years old, his mother kicked him out of the house for sexual relations with my sister. Pedro was sheltered by an adult man who turned out to be a pedophile. He constantly abused and raped the boy. Moreover, the so-called owner sold Pedro into slavery to other rapists. The boy managed to escape, but was soon abused by school teacher. This pushed him into petty hooliganism and theft. At the age of 18, he returned to his owner and, having committed sexual violence, killed him. As punishment for the abuse inflicted on him, Pedro tore the skin off the man. He did the same with two other pedophiles who raped him as a child.

For such crimes, Pedro Lopez received only 8 years in prison. The court took into account the following mitigating circumstances when passing the sentence:

  • lack of parental care;
  • molestation;
  • bullying of a person;
  • unauthorized deprivation of liberty of a minor.

In prison, Pedro killed 4 people who were sitting in the same cell with him, but was not punished for this. After being released from prison, he continued to kill people, traveling through Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. After another arrest, he admitted that he had killed more than 300 people. Police found a mass grave of his victims, in which more than 50 bodies of girls and women were found. Pedro was sentenced to 20 years in prison. He served 16 years in prison and was treated in a psychiatric clinic for another 4 years, after which he disappeared without a trace. Residents of Colombia and neighboring countries One can only hope that a maniac at an advanced age (68 years old) cannot commit murder.

More than 218 murders were committed by the British maniac Harold Frederick. He was a popular doctor among many families, who, under the guise of treatment, injected his victims lethal dose heroin. In most cases he killed women. Harold was even nicknamed “Doctor Death.” After being caught, the serial killer was sentenced to life imprisonment. After serving six years in prison, Harold Federick hanged himself.

Cubillos is a serial killer operating in Colombia. The maniac chose boys as victims, whom he brutally raped and then killed. The police managed to accuse him of 140 serious crimes, of which, according to the criminal himself, there are many more. Cubillos was sentenced to the maximum possible sentence in Colombia - 30 years. He will have to serve only 22 years: the term was reduced due to the killer’s cooperation with the authorities.

The maniac Javed Iqbal operated in Pakistan for a long time, raping and killing more than 100 children. From the testimony of the criminal it follows that he first raped his victims, strangled them, and dismembered the corpses. He carefully covered up the traces of his atrocities, using acid in which he placed parts of the bodies of the murdered victims. Photographs that the criminal took as souvenirs before the brutal massacre of the victims helped prove Iqbal’s involvement in terrible crimes.

A maniac from Brazil, Pedro Filho, was sentenced to 30 years for murdering 70 people. Despite all the atrocities of the serial killer, the court could not give him a more severe punishment, since according to the laws of the country, the maximum term of imprisonment cannot exceed 30 years. According to unconfirmed reports, Filho killed more than 100 people, including his father.

The murders committed by the Chinese maniac Yang Xinhai are particularly striking. He began his criminal activity with petty theft, and after a while he did not hesitate to take people’s lives. Once in the house, he cut out all family members, be they children or elderly people. Xinhai raped women even if they were pregnant. He took people's lives using an ax and a saw. After his arrest, the criminal was sentenced to death penalty and shot.

For more than 12 years, the brutal serial killer Andrei Chikatilo rampaged through the vastness of the Rostov region. During this time, he took the lives of 52 people. The maniac often attacked children and women. He often attempted to rape his victims, but he did not always succeed. Due to serious mental disorders, Chikatilo received satisfaction from causing suffering to people and watching their life leave them. In Ukraine, serial killer Anatoly Onoprienko took the lives of 52 people. According to the maniac, he was forced to commit crimes by voices in his head. Moreover, he killed his victims in places that, when connected, form a cross on the map. After a psychiatric examination, Onoprienko was found sane, and he was sentenced to death. Due to changes in legislation, the established sentence was replaced by life imprisonment.

It is difficult to imagine what the victims who suffered at the hands of the maniac Gary Ridgway had to endure. This criminal kidnapped women, raped them in the most brutal manner and abused them for a long time before taking their lives. Even after death, he did not leave his victims alone, performing sexual intercourse with them. After his capture, Ridgway confessed to 48 murders, although police believe he took the lives of 90 women. The maniac was convicted in 2003 and sentenced to life imprisonment.

Whether you think they are evil, crazy or deranged, serial killers always attract attention because of their cruelty and ruthlessness. Each such killer has more than one victim behind him, for which, naturally, he bears the most severe punishment. But at the same time, few people know what is behind the actions of such people. What drives them to commit such crimes? Unfortunately, it’s impossible to know, so you can simply check out the twenty-five most terrifying serial killers of the last century. Each of them at one time suggested real horror on the streets of the cities where he acted. Some of them carefully chose who they would kill, others attacked everyone. Some received life imprisonment, others the death penalty. But they were all incredibly cruel and terrifying people who had no compassion for those they attacked. Some of them have double digits and even three digit number victims, which is simply amazing and makes you think about how a person can be so cruel and merciless?
